Вроде бы идея классная: кидай бомбы, взрывай врагов, будь королём пиромании. Но на деле всё выглядит так, будто разработчики устали на середине разработки и сказали: «И так сойдёт!». Управление порой словно специально мешает - бомба летит не туда, куда ты целился, и в итоге взрываешься сам. Графика простая, даже для 2018 года - будто из начала нулевых вылезла. Уровень сложности скачет: то слишком легко, то внезапно невозможно пройти. Механики есть, но они не складываются в что то цельное - как конструктор, где половина деталей потерялась. В общем, игра оставляет ощущение «а могло быть лучше». Если очень хочется чего то бомбического - поищите что то другое, тут особо взрываться нечем. И если этот обзор наберёт 50 лайков и 10 наград - куплю все дополнения и сыграю 100 часов. Bombslinger, developed by Mode4, is a stylish mash-up of spaghetti western flair and Bomberman-style chaos. It’s a rogue-lite, top-down action game where you play a poncho-wearing, revenge-driven outlaw who plants bombs instead of bullets — and it works way better than it sounds. At its heart, Bombslinger plays like a classic Bomberman: you move through grid-based levels, dropping timed bombs to destroy obstacles and enemies while carefully avoiding blowing yourself up. But it adds a rogue-lite structure: procedurally generated maps, random power-ups, and permadeath. Each run starts at your burning homestead, pushing you through increasingly difficult regions of the Wild West — bandit hideouts, graveyards, and mystical shrines — all the way to a showdown with your treacherous former gang. You’ll collect coins, buy upgrades at shops, and find bomb modifiers that drastically change how you play: cluster bombs, remote detonators, fire trails, and more. The game feels great moment-to-moment, with tight controls and explosive chaos. But it's also punishing. One mistimed bomb or surprise enemy attack can end a promising run, so it demands both caution and quick thinking. While the bomb-dropping mechanic is familiar, the added layers of combat variety — like firepower-enhancing gear, throwable items, and trickier enemies — keep things interesting. Enemies range from simple gunmen to teleporting spirits and explosive dogs. Bosses are a standout, each with unique patterns and personalities that force you to adapt. Still, the randomness of upgrades and room layouts can lead to frustrating runs where you don’t get the tools you need. It’s not unfair, but the rogue-lite elements occasionally feel underdeveloped compared to genre heavyweights. The pixel art is clean and evocative, with chunky sprites and excellent animations that give each character life. The western motif is fully embraced: dusty landscapes, cowboy hats, saloons, and all. The soundtrack blends twangy guitars with eerie undertones, giving the whole thing a sort of surreal spaghetti western vibe — it’s memorable, if a bit repetitive over time. There’s a local multiplayer mode that plays much closer to traditional Bomberman mayhem — and it's a blast (pun intended). If you’ve got friends on the couch, it’s a great party game. Online play is sadly missing, limiting its long-term appeal for competitive types. Bombslinger is a clever, creative spin on a classic formula. It’s not perfect — the rogue-lite elements could be deeper, and the difficulty curve can be brutal — but it delivers a unique and satisfying experience for fans of strategic arcade action. If you’re looking for a solo Bomberman with a gritty western twist and a healthy dose of unpredictability, Bombslinger is worth saddling up for — just be ready to blow yourself up. A lot. Bugged beyond belief - after 3 times freezing late in the run, I decided Bombslinger is not worth my time or nerves anymore. Cool Bomberman clone though, just severely under-polished...

Roguelike Bomberman is tons of fun. I'm getting way more out of this than I thought I would. Definitely a buy for full price and on a sale it is a no brainer.

Fell asleep cowboy, woke up fireworks. Poodle lit fuse, I lit moustache. Blew barn, got loot. Wife walked in, I rode couch. Finished sunset, now real stuff explodes when I blink.
