Fighting freakazoid monsters with very satisfying sword mechanics in a maze. Basically a perfect videogame. I hope this dev does more with this melee system.
short n sweet game. good aesthetic and music game play is simple but very engaging with having to balance multiple enemies and the attacks you use on em only con i have is that while the hp bar on the arm is cool looking i nvr really knew how many hits i really could take or if i was at full health even tho this is p mitigated by the fact that as long as your healing off every enemy you dont really gotta worry bout it
Blue Wyrm may just be the most rancid playing game i was ever excited to play. It takes the jitter and wobble of a ps1 3D game and exagerates it so much it stops having any kind of meaningful effect. If you leave the head bobbing at 100% by default like the game does, the entire thing becomes almost a cruel parody of indie games that try to recreate these kinds of visuals. Every step is accompanied by a sound I can only describe as "plate mail flip flops". You can find better damage and hit feedback by using a kid's safe knife than trying to fight any enemies.
A short game but well worth the cost. The main combat system of 3 directional attacks that you can chain to heal is incredibly creative and combat in general feels very smooth and satisfying. You will be sprinting at nearly all times. The art style is also very enjoyable, and the 3D and 2D elements mix surprisingly well. I went in expecting it to be a sort of run-around-and-attack-wildly Ultrakill knockoff, but the combat actually requires a surprising amount of patience and each enemy needs to be approached and prioritized slightly differently. The soundtrack got a little repetitive, and I would've liked to have at least heard a new song in each of the "areas", or if the loop could've been something longer. Not sure if the dev has this in mind, but I think there is a lot of potential for a longer game expanding on these ideas... maybe something stage-based, focusing more on the stab-vertical-horizontal combo as the main way to heal (instead of the frequent healing pots), maybe some enemies/bosses weak or immune to specific directional attacks rather than hitting them all with the same combo each time. Imagine an enemy that you had to stab a few times to deal damage before they became vulnerable to other directions, or a boss with weak points that had to be hit with the right combo to damage, or an enemy that shoots projectiles that can only be destroyed with a specific swing... There is so much potential here, but even this little adventure is more than worth the experience.
while not a long game, it's quite satisfying to play (though i played on easy because im not very good at it and holding shift was starting to cramp my hands) and though i have a few gripes (mostly about holding shift, and i think the combat pacing is a bit weird, i thought it'd be a lot slower than it actually was), it's nothing that would hold me back from recommending the game to someone. plus, knight yuri!
Wonderfully weird little game with just enough depth to keep you engaged throughout before it overstays it's welcome. Story is very cute as well.
cool short little game. the combat was pretty easy once i figured it out, but the art style carried me to the end
this is too weird
Wow! DOSman games sure know how to pick them. It only took about an hour to finish the story, gameplay was simple, graphics were a bad acid trip, I probably wont play it again but it does have an arena mode to test out, highly recommend trying, it will test you.
Incredibly tight and great feeling movement and combat that really nails the feeling of being a cool anime sword lady, wrapped up in a fantastically unique aesthetic and vibe to boot. I've only finished the story mode right now, but I'll probably come back for the arena mode and to do another run on hard. Honestly wish I'd payed more than $4 for it.
