I played the first game. It was buggy as hell, many of its systems antiquated, but I enjoyed it enough to buy the second game. Still lots of bugs, many stats don't even math out correctly, making them utterly useless. A lot of things have been fixed however too, but I'm still stuck in the same limbo where this it's like, "Yeah, I want to give the next game a shot, but I'm still disappointed." So yeah. Tough sell. I would say pass, but maybe try out their more recent games.
Is it perfect? No, but I never expected it to be. I enjoy the game overall for a light, enjoyable vampire themed experience. It's a dungeon-crawler-ish/hack-n-slash where you can suck blood, sire minions, burst into bat form and battle Evil, of which you are most certainly a part. The controls are simple enough, the combat is satisfying, there are far more locations and content than I had anticipated...and I have yet to encounter a bug or glitch!
I actually have way more hours into this (used an external launcher with fix mods). After some research on how to improve the game's performance, it became a gem of a game.
Great game, big recommend! Would love to see a Bloodlust 3 :)
BloodLust 2: Nemesis, developed and published by WRF Studios, is an ambitious indie action RPG that delves into the dark mythology of vampires while combining dungeon crawling, hack-and-slash combat, and character customization. It serves as both a continuation of and an expansion upon the ideas presented in the original BloodLust: Shadowhunter, striving to create an immersive supernatural world where vampiric clans, ancient bloodlines, and corrupted science intertwine. From the opening moments, the game immerses the player in a grim, gothic environment, awakening within a tomb as a resurrected vampire in search of identity and survival. The story introduces a world where blood is both a source of power and a curse, and the discovery of “Nemesis,” an artificial substitute for human blood, adds a twisted layer of lore that fuels the player’s journey through crumbling cities and labyrinthine dungeons. It’s a world steeped in mystery and decay, one that manages to evoke the gritty atmosphere of classic gothic horror while presenting a structure familiar to fans of action-oriented RPGs. The core gameplay combines traditional hack-and-slash mechanics with deep role-playing systems. Players select a clan and class at the start, each with distinct skills, passive bonuses, and disciplines that determine how they approach combat and exploration. The experience system rewards both combat efficiency and thorough exploration, allowing the player to customize their character through skill trees and attribute points. What sets BloodLust 2 apart from many indie RPGs is the inclusion of vampiric abilities—hypnotism, shapeshifting, blood draining, and the power to sire new vampires, creating a small lineage that can be managed and used strategically. This “family” mechanic adds an interesting layer of complexity, as embraced followers can serve as allies in battle or aid in exploration. Loot acquisition forms the backbone of the gameplay loop; randomized equipment, scrolls, relics, and enchanted weapons offer constant incentives to dive deeper into the underworld. While the systems are familiar, their integration into a vampire-themed context gives them a unique flavor that sets the game apart from other indie dungeon crawlers. The game’s world design leans heavily into darkness and claustrophobia, with sprawling underground cities, crypts, and catacombs that challenge the player’s navigation skills. Exploration is a mix of linear dungeon runs and semi-open environments filled with traps, enemies, and hidden secrets. The mood is consistently oppressive, emphasizing isolation and danger. The lighting system is deliberately dim, encouraging players to rely on torches or night vision abilities to navigate the shadows. Despite the limited budget, the environmental art direction successfully conveys a sense of decay and ancient menace. The sound design complements this well, featuring ambient whispers, echoing footsteps, and low, foreboding music that intensifies during combat. The presentation may not rival big-budget RPGs in visual fidelity, but its atmosphere is undeniably effective, capturing the tone of a forgotten underworld ruled by blood and secrecy. Combat, however, is where the game’s indie nature becomes most apparent. The action plays out in real time, with melee and ranged attacks supported by magic-like vampiric skills. The player can slash, drain, or blast through hordes of enemies while managing stamina, blood, and cooldowns. While the combat system is functional, it often feels repetitive due to simplistic enemy AI and limited attack variety. Many encounters devolve into chaotic skirmishes that rely more on endurance than tactical finesse. Still, the satisfaction of unleashing powerful vampiric abilities or surviving a difficult battle keeps the gameplay engaging, especially for players drawn to grind-heavy RPGs. The loot system reinforces this loop by constantly tempting players to seek stronger gear and deeper dungeons. Unfortunately, the interface and inventory management can feel cumbersome, with small text, cluttered menus, and frequent micromanagement. It’s clear that the game was developed with depth in mind, but the lack of refinement sometimes hinders the overall flow. Narratively, BloodLust 2: Nemesis carries intriguing ideas that are not always fully realized. The lore surrounding the vampire clans, their rivalries, and the corrupting influence of science provides an interesting backdrop, yet much of the storytelling is delivered through sparse dialogue and environmental notes rather than cinematic sequences. This minimalism leaves much of the world’s history to player interpretation, which can be either immersive or alienating depending on expectations. Those hoping for the character-driven narrative of games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines may find the storytelling too fragmented, while players more interested in systems-driven RPG design will appreciate the freedom to define their own journey. The game’s progression rewards curiosity, and hidden passages, optional bosses, and secret artifacts encourage replayability even if the overarching plot remains relatively thin. Ultimately, BloodLust 2: Nemesis embodies the strengths and weaknesses of ambitious indie development. It offers a detailed RPG framework with multiple playstyles, clan paths, and loot systems that give players significant agency in how they approach the game. Its atmosphere, lore, and mechanics show clear passion for the subject matter, and the sheer amount of content packed into its world reflects a dedication to the genre that longtime fans will appreciate. However, its rough edges—the repetitive combat, uneven pacing, and unpolished interface—make it a challenging recommendation for those expecting AAA-level production values. For players who enjoy old-school dungeon crawlers, dark supernatural worlds, and deep customization, BloodLust 2: Nemesis delivers an experience that feels both nostalgic and fresh in its dedication to the gothic RPG aesthetic. It is a game made for those who appreciate ambition and creativity over perfection, a flawed but fascinating journey through the shadows of vampiric immortality. Rating: 7/10
<<<NÃO COMPRE ESTE JOGO>>>
O jogo é MUITO feio e cheio de bugs. Não recomendo! [b][EDIT] Anos se passaram e o jogo ainda é um pesadelo de bugs. Fique longe!
It's a decently fun game, it gives me Diablo vibes but with a different camera lay out.
Its pretty fun I thought it looked bad but it looks ok and its fun enough. I am impressed one guy can create this.
Absolutely love this game! Here are reasons for that: - Not big (only 2 including this) number of RPG franchise-games will let you feel yourself inside the vampire society. Once again - vampires and pirates are never getting old. - Developer took into account and fixed most of the issues, which taken place in the previous part (BloodLust Shadow Hunter) of the franchise-game. - Absolute Fun with random loot and Dungeon Levels :-) - Sound and Visual part of the Game cteate Real Atmosphere! As a result: mr. Bill Fisher developed another one great vampyre-RPG! My Mark - 9 points from 10 possible. With high interest will see gameplay of Vampirem and will purchase it. Wish you Good Luck and Creatitity, mr.Fisher!
