I came over from the mobile version of the game, and enjoy both :) I like that the seasonal content I missed as a newer player made its way to the PC version, the only thing I miss is being able to dress the player character and their partner like in the mobile version. That said, there's no straightforward way to implement it and the stories are excellent so I'm not particularly broken up about it. I love this game, and hope some of my other favorites from this studio also get a PC port! (coughrevercastecough) 2/28/25 Edit: I've played most of the routes now and I have to lavish some additional praise on the rich tapestry of the interpersonal relationships in this game. I love the friendships developed across the different routes, they really add to the experience.
heheh. ive been following this game forever. love my vampire brat tamer yaoi sooo bad
I played the mobile version before years back then and I was very pleased when I found out there is a steam version!
Pros:
-Improved UI (Music, less lag, clean interface). Prior to this, the mobile version had clunky and laggy UI. It also did not have any music. But now, there is music, less lag and much cleaner interface. -Easily accessible event stories. Previously, you had to spin the gacha for access some limited stories, now you just have to select the right options while playing. -Excellent translation compared other bl games (There are still several typos however) -Pretty good story compared to other bl games -Great art (though some sprites look a bit off like Yuugiri's)
Cons:
-No more dress up system. I used to enjoy dressing up the chibi characters in the mobile version. I know that it is stated in the FAQ that they couldn't figure out a proper way to implement this system again, but I do wish it stayed. -No voice acting -All the CGs are sex/kissing. I wished there were more romantic ones like the couples going on a date! -Limited facial expressions of sprites. Sometimes their dialogue does not match their faces. -No bad endings. Maybe this isn't a con for some but it is for me. I personally think one of the fun parts of visual novels is realizing you picked the wrong choices and f'd up.
Routes:
Izayoi x Uzuki: My favourite couple and the main couple. It is very sweet and cute, I truly felt the love. I felt like it explored the topic of love very well. Izayoi is a loveable possessive top, I love his jealousy ngl. Uzuki is the cutest bottom. Takamine x Chihaya: They are my least favourite couple BUT I personally think they have a deeper and more complex story compared to the other couples. They are more interesting and intense in terms of plot but in terms of chemistry I prefer Izayoi x Uzuki (But it is simply because I am not a fan of tsundere bottoms). Their story gave me the feels and the chills. Takamine is... yeah. He's something alright. Play it and you'll see what I mean. Gingetsu x Kasumi: My Second favourite couple. It is a bold route due to the taboo dynamic but it is packed with feels. However, I have a complaint. WHY IS IT SO SHORT COMPARED TO THE OTHER ROUTES? I felt like it could've been way more emotional and impactful if the route was longer. The taboo relationship is what makes it so interesting because of their attempts at balancing consequences and desire. Also for some reason on the Story map interface they had no special art unlike the others, it is just one of their CGs. For the routes below, the writing quality seems to have dropped. Narumi x Mizuho: Probably the worst story in the game. The story felt like a big mess and the switching povs makes it a bit confusing but it is interesting to see an equal amount of POV between the characters. The love felt kinda forced but to be fair that is kind of the point of childhood friends. The route felt like it wasn't exactly sure what it wants then suddenly boom love. But I appreciate the devs attempting to make a story about trying to figure out the difference between platonic and romantic love, although not the most well executed. Kazuha x Yuugiri: It is not as good as the first three but it is still enoyable. IMO the chemistry could've been better but I love Kazuha so much he's such a silly dude. The most enjoyable part of the story is Kazuha himself, he truly carried the route. Fyi this game has problematic characters but I love it like that. I do like how they are not truly flawless. Izayoi x Uzuki S2: It's cute but nothing really happened. Takamine x Chihaya S2: Same as the above. Though, one of the endings is definitely... intense. It got me giddy a little I'd admit. The game has Elective classes which is a bunch of short super cute scenarios such as dates :) It also shows the relationships of the characters not just with their main lover but with the other cast, it definitely gives better worldbuilding. No worries, their main lover is still the main focus of course. My favourite elective classes are: -Izayaoi x Uzuki simply because I love Izayoi's jealousy lol. -Narumi x Mizuho: There's an elective class where the tops hang out with each other and the bottoms hang out with each other as well, it is very cute and funny. There are also Extracurricular activities which is the same as above, cute short stories with some of them being somewhat long and with different endings. (Yes, I've unlocked and read through every single one.) These are the stories you could only get through playing the gacha in the mobile game. Once again, Gingetsu x Kasumi gets the short end of the stick in these. In the longer stories, they don't get the spicy/sweet endings and their story is just super short :( Though starting from the Christmas story it changed so yay? Later on, the individual stories become shorter due to the introduction of new couples. These stories make me like Mizuho way more than the main story, he becomes far cuter in these. Also, there's a bug in the game where in the extracurricular activities (Spring flowers), Gingetsu's eyes disappears suddenly which gave me a heart attack lol. However, I must say that the extracurricular activities stories get repetitive very fast. (EG: Izayoi and Uzuki get into an argument due to a misunderstanding happens very often in these stories.) And yes, I saw the 69 easter egg. Overall, it is an enjoyable game and I do recommend others to play it. In future though, I hope we'd get a harem game from the devs. I much prefer one Main Character x Multiple Male leads instead of multiple couples. I would've preferred Uzuki x All better haha.
Note: I received a free copy of this game for my curator, Games for Hopeless Romantics. So technically I didn't finish the game, but that's not really the game's fault...I recently got a new computer and didn't realize this game didn't have cloud saves, so I didn't think to back up my save files. Blood Domination is fine, I guess? I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it enough to unlock everything all over again in order to finish the season 2 content. The primary setting of the game is a boarding school for vampires. The world setting is a BDSM universe where all vampires are either Doms or subs, and have biological instincts to dominate or submit. (Note that while the term "secondary gender" is used, this isn't an omegaverse setting.) Blood Domination is a port of a mobile gacha title. In that sense, most of my thumbs up comes from the fact that this release exists at all; it's a 100% complete version of the game with no microtransactions and all the mobile game's story content (including gacha-only content) included for no extra cost. Unfortunately, the vast majority of mobile VNs simply die, and a certain other company who does PC & console ports of mobile VNs only includes parts of the game despite the originals not being gacha. Just on a preservation level, it's good that this port exists. Unfortunately, the fact that it's a mobile port also means that it reads like a mobile game. The mobile version had a common format where the story was broken up into "chapters" that you can only read a few of per day (unless you pay for more story tickets). These chapters are very short, and it's obvious in this PC port where a chapter break was in the original game. Because the chapters are so short BUT most players were pay-gated to only read ~5 per day, this leads to information often being repeated shortly after being first introduced. For a mobile player, the effect is less jarring; but playing this all-in-one release, I kept getting annoyed that the game kept reiterating stuff I could just check in the history menu. The story itself is really nothing special; the whole premise is pretty much "throw some concepts into a blender" and the mobile format doesn't lend itself well to telling a cohesive story. There's a surprisingly large amount of effort put into the worldbuilding. (Notably, switches do exist in this universe, but they're completely different from what switches are in real life BDSM.) Rather than having a single protagonist with different love interests to pursue, there are five different protagonist routes to choose from, each one having a fixed pairing; all the possible endings are good endings, but there's a Sweet (unambiguously good) ending and a Normal (bittersweet/less ideal) ending for each pairing. You need to see all the endings to unlock all the CGs and bonus stories. One of the routes (Kasumi+Gingetsu) is much shorter than the others and only two of the routes have a season 2 (I did not finish either so I can't say whether they're any good). Some of the routes include noncon between the main couple. Overall, it's not terrible, but it's not great either. This game is correctly labeled as adults only for its sex scenes, but I just want to point out that while the text is fully explicit, the CGs don't ever show the characters' genitals (this isn't a big deal) and the characters' naked sprites have Ken doll anatomy (this is). I think I would have preferred mosaics or steam than there just being Literally Nothing down there. There are some pretty extended dialogue scenes where the characters are naked, so it's hard to just ignore.
Peak, All the guys are cute or hot and the premise is entertaining. The scenes are really hot too. WE all want to crack vampire men
OH TO LIVE IN D/S UNIVERSE BYE
100/100 only problem is I NEED THE OTHER GAMES TOO please release them on steam 😭
Love the story! I like that there is not very rape centered and even has safe words! Great touch to add unlocked additional events to get to know the characters better not to mention the multiple POV's. Though I wish the tradition between seens was smoother and I definitely would like additional artwork for special moments.
