A little different than usual TD games. It has one tower that you defend, and one turret. A track brings in various parts of a train that require demolition. If the engine reaches your tower, the game is over. However, it is a "roguelite" type of game, so you get rewards that allow you to get new turrets and to upgrade them. Then you start over again and each time you go further because your weapons are stronger. You also get lots of trophies which are redeemed for money to buy upgrades for your weapons. You only use one weapon at a time and defend one tower. In that sense it is very simple game, but it is still highly engaging and requires some strategy to win. The graphics are good enough to add to your enjoyment of the game. It is good for TD fans who want something a little different (8/10).

A combination of Zuma and tower defense, and it works wonderfully. It feels good to fire your cannon and hit the train... you get a strong sense of impact that few games manage to achieve. It appears to have an unlimited upgrade tree. I say that because every time you max it out and restart the game, a few more upgrades are opened up for unlocking. You don't feel these upgrades, though, as they're all either 0.5% or 1.0% increases. That's an annoyance. The other upgrade method is gear, and after fifty hours I've yet to receive or assemble gold or red gear besides the freebie given for unlocking the final achievement. That's kind of crazy when you think about it. After unlocking the achievements, there really isn't a reason to keep playing beyond getting as powerful as you can. I can't recommend that because the game repeats the same ten or so maps and the same six train car types the entire time. There's no map variety past the tenth stage, and you're going to be playing hundreds of stages if you aim to complete the game. I would love to see more maps and more challenges/obstacles on said maps, because as it stands now, there's hardly anything. Some stages have a wall you can shoot down (or through if you have piercing) and even less have a gift box you can shoot to open for a single upgrade. That's your lot. As for guns, you're stuck with the same one the entire time. You can get different gear to change your stats, but visually it remains the same. The upgrades are painfully standard, but work, look, and feel great. Remember... attack speed up = critical chance up. The core gameplay loop is fun, exciting, and doesn't get old quick. It's worth the price, and will damn sure be worth it if they add more maps and enemy types. It's on the easy side, too... I think I had to replay maybe ten of the 250 stages I've played through. Worth the fiver.
Funny.
good and relasing
Really fun game, just hit the plat on it! Definitely recommend if you like tower defense and a new take on them!
This is a Blitzkrieg Assault: War Zone! mobile game, released on Android in December 2024. 500k+ downloads, 25.4k reviews, 4.1 stars. There aren't any typical mobile features such as daily quests, energy, or idle progression. However, you have no choice of the battle, you can only play next. Some battles are very easy - you will complete them on first attempt, while others require dozens of retries. I assume it's intentional to force you to watch ads or pay for boosts - options unavailable on Steam. A reward for losing a battle is always the same, no matter how far into the battle you lose. This changes the game into a mindless grind where you just start the battle, and not shoot at the train, to lose as fast as possible. It was a fun game for the first few hours, but that's it.
