games really challenging but thats the best part about it espiaccly whhen the blood and gore is every where and the lore is deep defienetly a 8.2/10

Just a solid simple Metroidvania with a standout art direction and narrative that do not hold back, but rather basic combat and movement mechanics for a modern title. Despite that, it plays smoothly and manages to have surprisingly distinct areas and enemies. While it is for the most part quite fun and consistently has quality level design, some sections can be quite irritating and are generally more of a challenge than the boss fights, save for a few exceptions. There's some of that retro charm here in regard to exploration and explanations, but a few extra QoL features would not have gone amiss. Blasphemous mostly sticks to the true and tried conventions of the genre and relies on its unique take on Catholic imagery and themes to set it apart, however it is an interesting game to be sure, but probably only for more patient gamers.
The game didn't click to me the first two times I tried it a few years back. But this time, it finally did and man, this game has been such a blast. The fact that I didn't enjoy it before is.. *blasphemy*
