About
The second scripture in the Blasphemous series portends the return of The Penitent One, with a story that continues from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC for the original game, where The Heart in the sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child.
Awakened in a strange new land, and displaced from his final resting place, The Penitent One is thrust back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection, with no other option than to explore this perilous new world and uncover its long-forgotten secrets.
Hordes of grotesque enemies stand in your way, awaiting final judgement by the brutal hand of the Penitent One, with titanic twisted bosses also lurking in the darkness, waiting for their chance to return you to the grave from whence you came.
Taking them down won’t be easy, but with Blasphemous 2 offering more chances to customise and improve your skill set, along with several new unique weapons to wield with righteous zeal and unending fury, victory might just be within grasp.
Ultimately, only one thing is certain… Penance Never Ends
Having awoken in a strange new land, your journey starts anew in a series of enchantingly grotesque landscapes, oozing Gothic charm and littered with unforgiving traps. How you tackle the labyrinthian world remains at your discretion, there is no wrong turn to be made, only scores to settle
The Penitent One shows no mercy, and with a series of new weapons offering new moves, brutal executions, and expanded combos, destruction will rain on any that stand in his way

Blasphemous 2 offers up new ways to play, with the ability to customise and improve your base skillset, alongside several new unique weapons to unleash devastating attacks on enemies

Hordes of monstrous foes stand between you and your goal; twisted bosses with unique attack patters and sundering abilities will put your skills to the test as you fight to stand triumphant when the dust settles

A whole new world awaits, bustling with mysterious new NPCs to interact with, some will offer aid, some will ask for it, and others will send you on death defying missions to obtain long forgotten items. 14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

6.5/10 Frustrating metroidvania. It rides on the original game's success and strong points while dilluting the experience with bloat and forceful implementation of metroidvania aspects. Boss fights are badly designed and not fun, especially Eviterno with his huge hitboxes, input-reading endless strings and barely any safe windows to heal or cast anything. This ♥♥♥♥ boss is a waste of time and was the cherry on top to stop playing after tedious backtracking and random map design. Gameplay: - Improvement over the original in terms of variety, but horribly balanced. Vendicto is the best weapon by far and the other two are very situational; S&C is impractical most of the time. Auto-ledge grab is terrible and leads to getting hit a lot of time. Boss design sucks where you have a metroidvania with heavy movement and soulslike moveset, but you have bullet hell bosses that disappear and fly (making S&C terrible in most boss fights). A lot of abilities are useless and outclassed by other abilities. There is also a lack of variety in the limited number of reused enemies varying by elements. Overall, combat is decent and weapons are sometimes fun, but the clunkiness and balance ruins it; switching weapons is also not viable because two of them reset their buff meters when switching. S&C needs a rework as it uses its buff as s crutch which is impractical in bullet hell bosses and when contact damage is a thing + low range. Parrying is also not done well as riposte is only available for specific attacks from specific enemies, and parrying itself has huge knockback which can knock you out of the room resetting enemy health or put you in stunlock positions. Map design: - Terrible. It is a bunch of themed areas that make no sense and have no visual or logical flow or transition save for a few higher ground areas. It is a bunch of themed areas with random identical-looking hallways that are hard to remember with no landmarks and you have to open the map every block you move. Secrets/metroidvania backtracking is abyssmal. It is random and badly implemented partially due to the spammy random map design mentioned before; you don't remember where secrets are and have to rely on the limited legend/marking map system. A lot of progression-locked puzzles stacked on top of each other meaning you have to revisit the same scattered secrets or pointers to added to the map multiple times to see if you finally get it or progress paritally through them. With that said, navigation is also a problem as every inch of the map is littered with either enemies or traps in tight hallways, hence why the developers use fast travel systems as a crutch rather than organic shortcuts and smart map design or more immersive area transition systems. Music: - Really good by industry standards. The composer is well-know by know from the first game, but the latter had better music and atomsphere. Blasphemous 2 has more generic music that sounds like dilluted and flattened or crowded sountracks from the original which had more distinct notes and tunes. It is the same instruments and themes but the soundtracks feel noisier with less distinctive notes. Art/atomsphere: - Really good pixel art and backgrounds. The oppressive dark atomsphere of the original game is lost though and the scanlines CRT filter is not well implemented leading me to use a custom Reshade CRT filter; the in-game CRT filters are too dark and don't have sliders.
Its amazing. I love the movement system. The cutscenes are FIRE too.

Generally a great journey and fun build experimentation to make it your own. Downsides are some really difficult bosses at times that require pretty precise side scroller techniques, but its worth it in the end.
