Hey everyone and this is my review about the game! This is a Action 3D spaceship (Semi-Tower defence) game.
Interface/Menu/Settings
You can choose to play between a mouse or a controller. There is Mouse and controller Sensitivity. But controller not recommended. There is a Master Volume slidebar. There is a Game Volume slidebar. There is a Music Volume Slidebar. You can play the game on fullscreen or windowed mode. There are many resolution sizes and some sizes for windows mode. There is 5 difficulty settings. There is a track of your own stats. There is a small ingame tutorial/intruction. There is mission select to re-play the levels and complete the challenges.
About the game.
You play in a Semi "3D" Spaceship world. You are in a spaceship and you deploy units to slowly remove the enemy virus. Once an area has been secured, you will have to pick up your units back into ur spaceship and proceed to the next area. You will receive a notification once an unit is done in an area. Units could be destroyed by enemy turrets and picking them up will repair them. You can protect your units by destroying enemy turrets. You can also shoot the red area's to remove the virus but sending units will be alot faster and better. Enemy turrets always prioritize you over your units, Even if they have recently attacked one of your units, They will always change target and focus on you. Your units will not attack turrets and will only focus on removing the virus. There are collectables, You will unlock and become a bit stronger if you are collecting them. You will encounter shops station later on and you are able to buy items here. You are only able to buy 1 item and than this shop will be a deploy station. Which means you will only get the item that you have purchased in this station. You can buy an item with Bug coins. No indicator when you are close to death. (Hardly visible). Your ship Regen overtime. Have a minimap on the right bottom corner. Okay music. Okay art. Okay Graphics (N64 Style). No restart level button. Bonus Levels to grind bug coins. For some reason the hitbox doesn't feel great whenever i hit an enemy. It could be just be me. Different crosshair would be better. Has some collectables, picking them up will unlock new things. Units are instant repaired, would be better if it is overtime. (like they need 3 seconds to be active again) Has some challenges and you are unable to see your challenge back once you are in a mission.
Other things.
Weird minor bug. Whenever im clicking to switch to controller. The mouse cursor is going all the way to the right side. Has Local co-op Potential. ------------------- I Give this game a 7/10
What a Blast! We've spent a few hours playing through this game, and it's a challenging romp through a digital world. You spend your time blasting away the virus from corupting the system. This game is all about the resource management, and in a good way. If you like the style of N64, and remeber watching Reboot and thinking I wish i could play a game inside a computer then this may be the closest you're going to get. Don't take my words for it though, you can watch Andy play a fair chunk of the game while I (Chris) talk to Paul and Jim from Plastic games right here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY6Md4ZRa90
Thank you for downloading the Bit Shifter Antivirus program. We will begin your comprehensive PC sweep in a few moments... Welcome to this little gem called Bit Shifter. This is a 3D RTS with RPG elements and a simple concept. You take bits, and you shift them. The only thing complicating this is a virus that spreads across the code in an effort to corrupt the primary data streams. It also produces tumor-like octopod offshoots, and other such organic unpleasantness, that blast your bits to pieces. Thankfully, your bits come with AOE anti-virus programs for just such an occasion. You, also, pilot the scandisc which can cut and paste the anti-virus programs around the source code and can delete small portions itself. It also downloads additional tools and updates as the scandisc removes bugs. The code that shows the scandisc in action is a little rough, but it can be described as retro with some organic technology mixed in. Finally, the scandisc even plays a wonderful techno soundtrack when it annihilates some nasty code. Overall, I rate Bit Shifter highly and deem it worth it's 15 dollar price point. However, the sale was a nice hook.
the game has all the stuff a great need it so smoth in the game paly and fun you all need to get it now the game has it all right thing a game need to be great just get it
2/10
bit shifter is a fun and challenging game where you need to stop a virus from spreading before it reaches a critical point in which you lose. you fly around in a ship and launch little robots to stop the virus from spreading. wherever the virus spreads little octorock looking things spawn that try to shoot down your ship. every level gets more complex and tense. it has a very retro gaming feel. your ship holds a limited amount of bits that stop the virus from spreading. so its important to prioritize where to put them based on how close the virus is to the data stream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGRFxFNHCl0
It's a fun game you take control of a ship thing and its like a third person tower defence shooter where you can throw down little dudes to keep red stuff (virus) from spreading and clean it up while slug shooty guys try to shoot you and your little guys and you can kill them by shooting them or using bombs and turrets you put down. Fun high speed at times and reminds me of playing on the playstation with it's graphic style though it does slow down on boss stages despite the style and the story is quite cheezy but overall good fun for sure worth a try
Imagine if the last level of Incoming was ported to NetYaroze by somebody obsessed with Carnage Heart and Krazy Ivan - then that port was re-ported to the N64 by a Euro dev team. With a little more tech polish and aesthetic sheen this could be one of the true stars of weird Steam games.
