Best game of Bioshock collection
Hermoso, muy hermoso.
The game is so good it makes me drool like that one cat image

Most people say Bioshock Infinite is the worst of the series, but for me it's hands-down the best Bioshock game, probably in my top 5 games of all time. Despite its flaws in some areas, this game is really on another level in other ways. It is a HIGHLY ambitious game that really needs to be experienced just for the world alone IMO. What blew me away most about this game is how incredible the world design and environmental artwork is. A solid 1-2 hours of my first playthrough was just me slowly wandering through each new area, exploring and absorbing all the little details from the buildings, bystander dialog, random shops, propaganda, religious icons... The world is so dense with many fascinating visual and aesthetic concepts, it feels like I could play through 10 times over and see and experience completely new things each time (I find this very impressive considering this is a very linear title, not an open world game at all!). Compared to Rapture in the previous games, I absolutely adored the bright colors wide open scenery of the outdoor areas of Columbia. Watching the people living and interacting with the environment in the opening sequence is just an amazing experience that adds so much charm and depth to the world and makes the city feel so alive. I will say the writing of Infinite is not as polished or coherent as other Bioshock games. The storytelling is vague and whimsical in places, it often feels like a fever dream, much less grounded in reality compared to the other Bioshock games. After watching some interviews with Ken Levine, I think this was partly a deliberate design choice and also partly an artifact of the game's troubled development. Supposedly Infinite had multiple games worth of planned content chopped just to ensure it would ever ship to customers, I could see how parts of the story could have gotten butchered and patched over multiple times in that process. By the end of the game the core idea behind the plot is clear, but various bits and pieces are not delivered very consistently throughout the game IMO. YMMV. I found the combat in Infinite was quite different from the other Bioshocks, not really worse or better just different. It emphasizes more dynamic movement during combat (eg. using the rail hooks to get away when near death) and much less on stealth. Playing through on normal difficulty I found the encounters spiked up or down a lot depending on the types of enemies involved, sometimes too easy and sometimes too difficult depending on the situation. Most of the enemies are easily killed but so are you, it is definitely more action oriented and rewards well timed usage of plasmid+weapon combos. Most of the enemies are not nearly as damage spongy as the first game which is a nice improvement, but I also think it makes the combat became less strategic and more streamlined. There is so much more that I could say about Infinite, but overall this game is a 10/10 for me despite it's flaws, Columbia is really a one-of-a-kind experience that I wholeheartedly recommend.
