Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Aug 21 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really like the bioshock series, but this one I can't enjoy because it keeps crashing. I've done the recommended settings and even f5 when I can....but it will crash during battles with big daddies too. Good story, but I just can't play it

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

the main problem I have with this game is that it crashes constantly, im being forced to quick save every 10 seconds just so I don't lose any of my progress when the game goes off. If the developers of Bioshock 2 are reading this, please for the love of god fix this issue. Because it's not just me who is going through this, many players are going through the exact same problem from many of the other reviews I have read. Its extremely frustrating that such an amazing game from an amazing franchise is being ruined by something so horrifically annoying, because all it does is put the players off and discourages them from playing it and this is a great game. please hear my prayer and fix it as soon as you can.
The story is top tier but the bugs and random crashes annoy me , and this happens too frequent.
é impossível jogar fica crashando toda a hora
its bioshock what did you expect? obviously its good
more difficult and i like bioshock 1 and infinite more but its still fine
I want to note that the original Bioshock 2 release tends to crash on modern systems (Windows 11). There's a 'remaster' that plays better with 2026 OS', but there are some minor visual elements that have been lost in the transition. So I chose to play the original with a patch that prevented crashing. However you play it it's the same experience, though. With that out of the way: the original Bioshock was so successful that a sequel was bound to come. The obvious question is whether it lives up to the first game. And that can be answered in 3 parts: shooting; maps; story. When it comes to the shooting it's almost a 1:1 experience. The only area of noteworthy change is dual wielding plasmids and weapons. You no longer have to switch to plasmids before using them. It's not a massive change, but it makes things slightly quicker. When it comes to the maps it's a bit more complicated. Visually they are a downgrade. BS1's maps had distinct areas with a strong sense of identity for each location, all of which adhered to the Art Deco style. BS2 maps tend to blend into one another, mostly because the same tiles and textures are re-used. You don't have as many of the visually striking set pieces that BS1 had. Areas like Pauper's Drop seem to have had little development time in fleshing out. Pauper's Drop is an interesting concept (a shanty town), but the plain floor tiling and being able to see the ceiling of the level most of the time makes it feel like a custom map someone made. Especially with that dinner plopped in the middle of a square room which lacks detail. It feels amateurish. Dionysus Park is another interesting concept (an art gallery that was flooded). But the large, empty rooms also lack detail. It's not that the maps are badly designed. Andrew Ryan's park is similarly interesting, but rather plain. They forgot to fill some of the maps with character. To their credit, the areas are larger and a better fit for arena shooting. Because you play as a Big Daddy (and can protect Little Sisters as they harvest) the maps are typically more open. So when it comes to artistic design, there's a huge drop in quality. In terms of layout, I'd say the maps are on par. And if you prefer more open arenas made for shootouts, BS2 is good in that respect. The story is probably the most interesting section to dissect. Bioshock 1 was a unique look at Objectivism, an ideology that can best be summarized as 'survival of the fittest'. Redistribution via the state is viewed as abhorrent, as it disrupts the natural order of the strong and intelligent reigning supreme. Unregulated free markets affect every aspect of life. No handouts. No safety nets. BS2 introduces Sofia Lamb, whom stresses an ideology of collectivism and unity as opposed to Andrew Ryan's individuality and competition. A psychiatrist, her patients include the poor and struggling, whom Andrew turns a blind eye to. Whereas Andrew Ryan is a titan of industry who created Rapture, she is a college educated psychiatrist. Classic left wing and right wing characterizations. And a natural juxtaposition against Andrew given the first game's political bent. Sofia shares Andrews want for a utopia, albeit from a left wing angle. She sees how Rapture has created winners and massive losers, who live impoverished and wanting. I don't want to delve too deep, but she ultimately sees 'the self' and ego as the cause. Man's ego and self-interest. Which disregards the suffering of others. In her eyes, Andrew worships the worst impulses of humanity. I find her interesting, but I wished for more. With her juxtaposition against Andrew, one would've hoped for the collectivist version of Rapture. Her criticism of Rapture comes from an interesting place (psychiatry), but one wishes the scope was greater. Perhaps that's asking for too much, since it would require upending the world and creating the complete opposite. BS2 is a sequel to an established place and time. It is a scenario within an existing world, not a new world. Whatever the reasons, the result is an interesting story and juxtaposition to BS1, but never as visionary or grand. Whilst BS1 can be said to be a work of art, BS2 is merely a video game sequel. Not a bad one, mind you. And people coming to this game should expect more of the same without the strong impact of the first.
