Biomeinoes is a game that I've grown much more fond of than I was expecting. I beta-tested it a little before release and it's cool to see how the game evolved over time. It's surprising how satisfying this game can be to play; it has a wealth of hidden strategies that emerge from one simple core mechanic. The isometric grid and retro graphics are enjoyable to look at, and SFX and music is also pretty great, reminiscent of soundtracks from games like Minecraft or Spore but with its own unique flavour. This game is a lot cozier than I was anticipating. Great stuff, especially from a new team of devs. Good job all!!
fun and interactive way to see how much smarter your friends are
Been a beta tester since the very beginning, this game is really fun and pretty addicting. I spent over 80 hours finding strategies and climb up through the rankings, dopamine guaranteed. Contains a lot of gamemodes, from time trials to harder main mode or blindfold mode. There's a lot of things to do in this little game. I highly recommend it for people who enjoy tile-matching strategy games.
I was a beta tester for this game and had hours of chill fun trying to achieve high scores. This is a perfect game for those that enjoy other genre entries like Dorfromantik or Islanders.
i love biomeinoes
i always end up playing this game longer than i expect to. awesome concept and incredibly visually engaging; it's like putting a brand new puzzle together. i'm still working on filling up a screen with tiles, the skill ceiling is really high and fun to work towards
I received a copy of this game early. Really had a lot of fun trying to master it, put 4.2 hours before launch, gonna plan to put more hours in now its in full release!
Dorfromantik with Islanders/Townscaper vibes. Fantastic gameplay loop and soundtrack!
This game is innovative and very fun, incorporating arcade style gameplay, graphics and point scoring system. Biomeinoes has a pixel-art art style and has few gameplay mechanics, yet achieves increasing complexing at a good rate throughout the game. It introduces new variable to the equation at just the right times to keep players on their toes. further more, you are rewarded for playing smarter, leaving larger chunks' completion until later. this cleverly designed system reflect truly good games design in it's best form - achieving immersive gameplay no matter how mundane or simple the artsyle, mechanic or problem may be. The game revolves around the player placing land pieces with various combinations of biomes on each piece, and is rewarded points for making the tiles match up. though this may seem easy at first, the implementation of more biomes at carefully selected points make this task a formiddable challenge that continues growing over time, literally. The difficulty curve is impeccably selected facilitating investment in the game throughout. personally, I believe that maybe there could be a few more mechanics, and potentially some dolling up of the user interface, slightly. perhaps reflecting the arcade style, paying homage to classic pixel art games. in terms of mechanics, maybe having a type of mechanic that allows players to erase sections of land under certain conditions. That being said, this game is very good quality, and considering the price point, is entirely worth the purchase as it will always be a game you can get better at. you can see the developer's investment and care in this game and it shows. i urge you to get this game as it is on of the few truly good games that has classic value.
A very interesting little puzzle game, I find myself coming back to it when I want a quick puzzle fix. I will admit, I had difficulty understanding the game mechanics at first (hint: Completing a block of only 1 square does not reward any extra tiles), but once I had figured it out, a casual but very challenging little game was waiting for me.
