Biolab Wars

Biolab Wars é um jogo de ação em estilo run and gun que presta homenagem aos clássicos da era 8 bits, especialmente títulos como Contra e Mega Man. Com gráficos em pixel art bem trabalhados e uma trilha sonora energética, o game entrega uma experiência nostálgica sem abrir mão de mecânicas modernas. O jogador pode escolher entre diferentes personagens, cada um com habilidades próprias, o que aumenta a variedade da campanha. As fases são repletas de inimigos, chefes desafiadores e segredos para descobrir. A jogabilidade é precisa e exige bons reflexos, principalmente nos níveis mais avançados. Embora sua proposta seja bastante familiar, Biolab Wars conquista pelo ritmo intenso, pelo excelente level design e pelo respeito aos clássicos que o inspiraram. Un juego que se nota hecho con mucho cariño y afición por los clásicos arcades consoleros. Un poco de Contra / Probotector, otro poco de Turrican y otro poco de pura originalidad. Destacan la suavidad de control, lo rápido que nos adaptamos a la jugabilidad, los gráficos 8 bits (por supuesto), el sonido típico pero efectivo y que la variedad de armas es la justa y necesaria para no volvernos locos. Quizá se echa en falta un modo difícil (o que sea un poco más difícil en general) y un par de fases más, pero no decepcionará en absoluto.

Sencillo y cumplidor Run 'n Gun, muy pensado para los que se quieren iniciar en el género. Pixel Art clásico, imitando a los 8bits alguna melodía pegadiza, bastante corto y fácil. No pasará a la historia pero por el precio que tiene puedes pasar una buena tarde liberando al mundo de la enésima amenaza extraterrestre. 6'5/10

Um dos melhores contra like já feitos, dificuldade na medida, muito divertido e fluído. Ficou ainda melhor com as atualizações.

This game tries to be an old school run and gun but fails horribly due to the terrible level design. However this issue isn't a kind that gives frustration, it makes the game super easy,bland and boring. Literally every level is just couple of enemy types placed around randomly. There is no thought behind enemy placements at all,they are just there and creator doesn't do anything interesting with them. Boss fights are quite bland as well. They have one or two specific attacks and keep repeating those. I especially find the chicken boss's laser attack quite lame. It always shoots at the exact same place. Had like 100 mins in the game and already got all achievements. Achievements like "kill all enemies" is not fun nor anything skillful. Also you want people to beat the game with each character even though they all work exactly same? That's not good. So overall game has serious design issues and offer nothing interesting. Just a bland run and gun game.

Great little gem, all the better for being a very playable contra clone with a health bar. Needs patching it so that a little health is lost when you fall down a hole rather than a whole life. My only gripe with it.
