Binarystar Infinity is a 1-Bit Shoot ‘Em Up with a challenging experience reminding of the traditional Arcade Shmup classics, that can be experienced alone or with a friend, and with the particularity of being playable in vertical or horizontal scrolling mode.

Ok, I just finished this game (using no save games nor continues, I actually don't even know if the game offers continues) in less than half a hour. This review will look like I hated the game. I didn't, but I didn't love it either, and this could had been a great game if it wasn't riddled with serious issues, probably a mix of the programmer being inexperienced with both coding (and I see the game was made with Gamemaker Studio) and shmups in general. First, why having inertia? It's 2022, everyone who plays shmups are tired to say how adding inertia to games like this is an awful idea. You are dodging between bullets trying to moving with precision, why the hell some game developers still think we want to use an avatar that slides like it's on ice when dodging bullets? The game is way too easy for shmup veterans, I finished it on my first go (Ok, not exactly my first go. I actually restarted the game three times on level 1, then I played "for real" and didn't restart once). The game is full of cheap moments but at the same time the levels are way harder than bosses. The weapons are really unbalanced. The bubble weapon has an awful fire rate and at some moments you are screwed if you are stuck with it (God forbid you have to fight a boss with it), while the laser is too strong and the normal weapon is... right at the middle. Because of this you find yourself trying to dodge power ups many times, and it's hard to do it because your ship is attracted to them, which wasn't a good design choice for sure (it's ok for the bonus icons, not ok for power ups, like, ever) Bosses have just 2 or 3 attacks and they become repetitive too fast. Which wouldn't be a problem if the fights didn't last too long (And like I said, if you get there with the bubble weapon... oh boy). Also for some reason levels are way harder than the bosses... the levels are full of cheap moments (and the fact that sometimes it's hard to know what background you can crash and which one you can't make stuff even worse), while the bosses are really easy (The only cheap moment was when the level 4 boss became very fast without any warning). The randomness nature of power ups is kinda annoying, but it gets really bad because 1ups are given as power ups... so it's clear you may get more or less 1ups just by luck, which is a real stupid design decision. And the game is WAAAY to generous with the 1ups, and that's the only reason the game is so easy (We are talking Compile levels of 1up generosity here) Then you have some small bugs which are really annoying... you can get power ups while dead, some enemies still keep shoting after being dead (Those 2 bugs are usual from really novice programmers), the "WARNING" screen before bosses make the screen flash WHILE ENEMIES ARE ATTACKING YOU and you can't see anything because of this, I am pretty sure you can keep milking level 2 boss forever and score as many points as you patience allow you there... For the good points... the art is very nice considering it's made with just 3 colors (Yeah, it's not 1 bit... it's white, black and red), I liked the fact you can play the game on either YOKO or TATE mode (But why I can't rotate the controls on TATE mode? My monitor can be placed in vertical and I do it with a lot of shmups), the soundtrack is great, being able to turn off the "Shake FX" was a great option (I dunno why so many indie devs think shaking the screen when stuff explodes while you are trying to dodge things is a good idea), and if it wasn't by the inertia and the abundance of 1ups, the game would really feel like an oldschool 80s arcade shmup. A generic, mediocre one, but still.... I won't give a thumbs down because I got the game REAL cheap, and I did have some fun with it and I paid a very low price for it. I had 30 minutes of average fun with it and I doubt it I'll ever play it again, but I bought it at a 90% discount price, so I guess it was worth the money I paid. At 90% discount, I'd recommend it. At its full price, no way.
really easy game to get into. Just like the old classic space shooters but with a modern feel and really great music. Plenty of power ups and 1ups to keep you going and the bosses ive encountered so far are all different and require a different way to defeat them. A challenging game thats great fun.
Nope. Don't be fooled by just the look of it. While the pixel art is definitely high quality, the game suffers from the simple palette. What is neat at first glance quickly becomes an eyesore and sure, aesthetic preferences aside, I found myself wondering if they put all that work into the art and design of the game at least add some more palettes or make it a few more colors...seriously. Being able to play vertically or horizontally had very little effect on my game experience or enjoyment to be honest. I found myself playing mostly in the vertical layout. Music, controller support, the loose story and chapters were OK, definitely passable. What really sucked was the game play itself. Now, I'm no S ranked super schmup pro but I found the difficulty level was pretty high but made almost 'higher' but annoying thing that happened through each session: - SPD powerups? Get used to your ships handling only to have you hyper accelerate and veer into a nearby meteorite becaues you grabbed one by accident. Just make the ship one speed please... - Weapons themselves are alright I guess, with some being vastly OP for a given chapter (that's the idea I guess?) but what's the point of levelling up your badass laser when 2 seconds before boss you are forced to go through a small corridor of debris and a grab the lvl 1 twin laser again....great, there goes that run. - Enemies are OK but maybe it's because the level design feels crowded and cramped for what it's throwing at you, it's tough to focus on a play-style of dodging bullets or clearing the screens quickly. Anyways, hate to be a downer but the game just doesn't feel good. Couple of tweaks would make it a lot better, simplify and use that space to add a little more finesse to the gunplay and handling. I'd pass on this one, no matter the price, unless you're a schmup collector and like the look or something...
I don't like that red color stands for both upgrades and enemy bullets, and I also don't approve of using this eye-poking art style for a shoot 'em up genre in general, but overall the game isn't bad at all.

Für 39 Cent Kann man nicht viel falsch machen
I'd give this game a mixed review if I could. It's a simple and very straightforward shmup (not even a bomb of sorts), which can be a good or bad things depending on who you ask or what you're looking for. The patterns and level design also leave a LOT to be desired, frankly. I got the impression not a lot of thought was put into patterns, placements, what felt fair or not, etc. It does, however, have a cool aesthetic, decent controls, and satisfying SFX. If a really simple and straightforward shmup with a neat aesthetic is exactly what you're looking for, than get this. Otherwise, though I respect what was made here, and I don't regret buying it (for 1€), or the hour I spent beating it... I can't really say I *recommend* it per se...
最后一关BOSS甚至没有血条,死了几次之后放弃了
Fun little blaster. My gamepad worked great without the need to configure it. Although, I like the color pallet a lot, it can be a bit hard to see stuff on the screen at times, but you get used to it. Music is fast paced and suits the game nicely. If you like shooters, you can't go wrong with this; especially if it's on sale.
