About
What started as a routine mission turns into a fight for survival deep in hostile territory.
Move through jungles, villages, and military outposts, choosing how you approach each situation. Stay quiet, set up ambushes, or go in loud when things escalate.
The battlefield reacts to your actions, and missions shift between open areas and more directed encounters. Play the full campaign solo or in 2-player coop and fight your way back - one step at a time.
Every encounter can be handled differently. Stay quiet and eliminate targets up close, fight through enemies with rifles, or use heavy weapons when things get out of control. At longer distances, precision matters just as much.
Fights shift fast, and reacting at the right moment can decide whether you push forward or get overwhelmed.
Earn new attachments through side objectives or by actively using your weapons. Each weapon progresses individually, unlocking new options over time.
Attachments offer both benefits and drawbacks, giving you control over how your weapon performs in different situations.
Use land vehicles, helicopters, and boats to move through the battlefield and support your mission. Reposition quickly, outmaneuver enemies, or bring mounted firepower into the fight when needed.
Vehicles are based on authentic military equipment used during the Vietnam War.

Earn experience, climb the ranks, and track your performance with detailed statistics. Every weapon features its own progression system and stat tracking, allowing you to refine your playstyle and optimize your loadout.
Unlock attachments, expand your arsenal, and showcase your progress in multiplayer. Whether you play solo, in coop, or in PvP, all modes contribute equally to your progression.

It only has single player. There's no mission builder or co-op. Runs good. The enemies run good too.
A good small Vietnam war FPS game. I will say it's a single play of Hell let loose: Vietnam. The Graphics is good. A lot of guns, M16A1, MAT49, K98K, MP40, PPSH, Mosin Nagant and AK47. That's good. The only downside is the AI and Gore part, devs need to work more on these two issues. I am looking forward to see a better AI behavior in the future game. 12 dollars you have this game, a good deal! Welcome to Vietnam!
it's playable believe it or not
I'm having pretty decent blast with this game & I think it might be the best one from Polygon Art. Tell me, when last time did you played a good single player campaign, I repeat - a single player campaign set in The Vietnam war? Not some two missions poped out of order, or multiplayer grind. A single-player game. Don't know when? Aight, here is some story called "When". Year 2003, Vietcong. Year 2004, was the year of Vietnam war game shooters: Vietcong Purple Haze & Fist Alpha, Shell-Shock Nam '67, Conflict Vietnam & Men of Valor (my favorite games) Year 2005 Vietcong 2 Year 2009 Shell-Shock 2: Blood Trails 2011 - Men of War: Vietnam. Then, from there, a massive gap of long ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years with no single player game with that theme. Thousands game studios, hundreds possible ideas, remakes. Nothing. No disregarding any multiplayer title that came out, they are also great, but be aware that through 15 years! - nothing. So to anyone questioning Polygon Art games, please stop disregarding or disrespecting them. They are making something good with this one, they are making a history right now. Beyond Enemy Lines Vietnam offers: Campaign (4 missions in Early Access; 8 in total). Operations. (Op. Game Warden, currently.) Coop mode. And Multiplayer. Roadmap sounds promising so keep it up. And I like recent updates, multiplayer and servers were added , also dynamic random weather in Operations what brings new Vibe. The atmosphere and design of locations feels to surprise - awesome. Screenshots in store page suggested something else, or didn't cover it clear but the jungle looks amazing , looks Vietnamese a lot. That vibe of modern Vietcong Purple Haze & Fist Alpha is certainly here and is most accurate comparison. My favorite missions iare the second one, third one which has some rescue hostage scenario in it (i like that) and Operation Warden - that layout reminds me a some map of Battlefield Vietnam. Gun customization seems great and pretty useful, that makes it better. And in addition, it didn't even crashed a single time, and that means something, as for Early Access stage. The biggest issue that bothers me and affect aiming is weapon sway, however the devs listen to the feedback and improve that by adding slider to weapon sway. Now the gunplay and aiming feels much better. I give it a huge praise and chance to be good is big one. Hammer out.
Well, more than 20 years later and no one can do a Vietnam decent game like old Vietcong or Men of Valor. This game here is beyond bad. Let's make it short: Pros: + Nice enviroment sounds + Good weapon models + Somewhat open levels Cons: - Atrocious AI, one of the worst I've ever seen, only better that Polygon normandy 1944 game (one of the worst games I've ever played). Ugly models, always the same enemies, they'll run at you all the time, hit you all the time, detect you all the time, always the same. - Checkpoint save system (in 2026). Every time you reload, all the enemies spawn back, a real torture. - The terrain and jungle looks good, untill you realize is the same thing, same buildings all the time. Nothing to interact with.
Finally released! I have been waiting a long time for this and I like it. Of course it is not a AAA title, but me, it takes me back to the time when I was playing games like Shellshock, Men of Valour and of course Vietcong 1 and 2. And yeah it can use here and there a little bit of work, but if you are old enough to have played the old titles I am talkling about, you will defintily have fun when you run trough the jungle, fighting of the Vietcong with Ride of the Valkyries coming from your headset.
After spending more than 3 hours with this game, I had a good time overall. The Vietnam War atmosphere is excellent, the environments look realistic, and the campaign offers enough variety to keep missions interesting. I enjoyed exploring different locations, completing objectives, and experimenting with different weapons. The game already has a solid foundation and it is great to see the developers actively improving it during Early Access.
Graphics:
• Realistic visuals that capture the Vietnam setting very well • Dense jungles, villages, military camps, and outposts look detailed • Lighting and environmental atmosphere help immersion • Good weapon and vehicle models • Extensive graphics options for different hardware setups
Gameplay:
• Missions allow multiple approaches depending on playstyle • Stealth and direct combat are both enjoyable options • Vehicle gameplay adds variety to missions • Weapon attachments and progression provide extra goals • Campaign missions offer good environmental variety
Controls:
• Movement feels responsive and easy to learn • Interface is straightforward and easy to navigate • Shooting mechanics are enjoyable during firefights • Aiming could be polished further for even smoother gunplay • Controls already feel solid and can become even better with future updates
Progression:
• Individual weapon progression feels rewarding • Attachment unlocks encourage continued use of weapons • Rank and experience systems provide long term goals • Multiple weapons allow different loadout choices • Progression gives a satisfying sense of advancement
Difficulty:
• Missions provide a balanced challenge • Tactical positioning is important during encounters • Enemy numbers can create intense firefights • Different approaches help players adapt to situations • Difficulty scaling improvements from recent updates are a welcome addition
Optimization:
• Stable gameplay throughout my testing sessions • No crashes encountered during several hours of play • Graphics settings allow performance tuning for different systems • Larger combat encounters could benefit from additional optimization passes • Overall performance was good and continues to improve through updates
Rating:
8/10
Developer Support & Hotfixes:
One thing I really want to praise is how quickly the development team is responding to feedback during Early Access. In a short period of time they have released multiple hotfixes addressing mission progression issues, AI balance, weapon handling improvements, tutorial fixes, collision problems, vehicle related bugs, UI issues, localization fixes, and player guidance improvements. The recent adjustments to weapon spread, AI difficulty scaling, navigation flow, and ongoing work on AI reactions and close combat balancing show that feedback is being taken seriously. It is always encouraging to see developers communicate openly, acknowledge issues, and deliver fixes quickly. Supporting games that receive this level of post launch attention is important, and the continued updates give confidence that the experience will keep improving over time.
