Dogs and romance?? Yes please!

This game feels like a Demo for a much better game. Character creation was lacking enough that I expected CGs, but there are none. Planning weekly activities with our dogs and having their care minigame was fun, but felt superficial. The writing felt like there was supposed to be way deeper lore, but never dives into it in a meaningful way. The characters had unique designs, personalities and dynamics, but the game's too short to explore them. And the bugs... So many bugs. I really, REALLY wanted to like this game. I played every story and took every option. It's been six years since its release, so there's no hope for improvement. Which is a shame, because it's a game that's worth revisiting and improving. All in all, if you get it on sale, I do believe it's a game worth playing, even if it isn't all it could've been.

good game but execution could be better

It's a dating sim with dogs. Mechanics around it is pretty simple, has some interesting storylines. It does decide things about your character or what your character can know for you around, which is usual but some seem a bit more,, 'now why can't I say that I know about this or yeah, me too' than others. The characters are honestly a bit more unique/distant from the typical tropes than I expected. The character can't really be customised, which is fiiiiine but... why have them then? It's cute, but a bit plain. Might be more suited for a mobile device than a computer, being a very low stakes, short story. Mostly focuses on you and your dog.

Love this game ! I only did Maribel's route so far but I'm determined to continue playing to romance other characters and level up my doggy <3 Would definitely recommend if you love dogs as much as you like dating sims !

The premise of Best Friends Forever held a lot of potential. At its core, it's a dating sim with a heavy focus on personal growth, companionship, and navigating the complexities of interpersonal relationships. Unfortunately, it fell short in delivering any real engaging or emotionally impactful experience. While an attempt at exploring the dynamics of friendship and relationships was made, the plot offers no variety and shower-deep insight to queer issues. The story follows a predictable path, with very few surprises or emotional highlights unless tied to the romantic interest(s) of the player. The unique dog care aspect also begins to feel like a chore, and the vet's feedback follows on a loop. The lack of variation or (true) challenge made it feel like a chore instead of an idle game. All in all, this game lacks replay value. The choices the player makes have minimal impact on the outcome and the story follows the same path no matter what options you choose. The only reason I chose to replay this was to 100% the game, and it truly felt like a chore after the first replay. It's an amazing concept and the art was very well done, but it just doesn't hold up the way I had hoped.

This was a spontaneous purchase for me. I honestly didn't really understand why I bought it. Then, I fell in love with the game and it's very tongue and cheek humor. I love the complexity of the characters and how they are inherently flawed. It makes them a lot more enjoyable and i found myself liking each character. I've only done two playthroughs so far, but i have many heads to boop and romances abound. To summarize, if you like cozy, silly dating sims that have imperfect characters, this game is for you. Come for the dogs, stay for the romance... and mostly the dogs.

I really appreciated this game. I don't think its worth £16 pounds, more like £8 - £12. Though i understand its a small developing company, with that said the game is incredibly cute and fun, I've had 2 different story lines and they were both very similar. I feel as if the games slightly rushed and sometimes buggy, ie, i was missing a character sometimes, I would appreciate it if we had more CC and DC because honestly, not much variety.. i hope this helps :3

So far I have only done two romance routes, but both of them were amazing. Cute people to date and even cuter dogs to pet. I love the options for your character, letting you chose between three preset characters and then pronouns. So you aren´t forced to go with the feminine option if you want the she/her options or any other way. Leaving it open to customization even with the few options you get.
