About
Hi all, we did our very best to catch all of the typos and errors in the game pre-launch but there are still 12 outstanding tickets that have minor non-breaking issues. (Characters show up where they shouldn't etc.. )
Our save file layout is still very simple, expect that to change next week.
If you find issues, bugs, or crashes please email us instead of using forums. We honestly don't have time to keep track of issues on the forum and email is the fastest way.
THANK YOU!!
The friendliest dating sim on the planet is back and ready to cuddle! A long-awaited sequel to the award-winning visual novel LongStory, our new season picks up where the first ended — the summer before high school begins.

It seems like everyone has a theory to share, is busy birdwatching online, or will happily feed the rumor mill. But does the person who left the turkey suit sitting in your closet even want to be found? And if they aren’t Turkey anymore, are they even your friend?

Refunded. Everything about this game feels rushed. It's odd, because LS2 has been in the works since at least 2020 (though it was initially planned to be a web series), and the time between the demo and release was a year and a half. UI: – There's no back button or dialogue history. – You can't access settings from the pause menu. It's odd because the only setting is volume. – The only setting is volume. – Save slots don't display any information including if there's even a save attached to one. Gameplay: – So many typos. – The music is bland and is not well implemented. Songs will abruptly cut on or off, some only play for a few lines of dialogue or will interupt another song that's already playing. – It's quite short, maybe around a third of the length of the original. I completed 2 characters' routes in under 2 hours. Art/Writing: – The art from LS1 is reused, but there are new assets as well that don't match the first game's style. – None of the characters talk like high schoolers. It's the most obvious during the texting scenes or when the player character in particular tries to say something funny. – The player character is a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to their mom for no reason. She's a good, supportive parent and was close with both her kids in LS1, what happened? Finally, the player character, Sasse, is just awful. The story is about Sasse trying to figure out why their friend/love interest, Turkeyhawk, has ghosted them. However, their methods are much too invasive and just come across as stalking after a certain point.

One of the dateable characters creates a website for people around the city to give updates on where they've seen TH. The is never presented as harassment or doxxing and the main character regularly frequents the site. It felt uncomfortable, especially since online platforms dedicated to making a spectacle of people like trans kids or furries minding their own business are very common in real life and the game seems to be endorsing it.
Every single character tells Sasse to let it go and give TH space. Everyone. Sasse does not let it go. In fact, they usually ignore the character who tells them to let it go in the same scene. They even ignore you – there's a part the player is given the option to "Drop it" in reference to TH. I clicked it and they went to bed, then woke up the next morning and went on the stalking site. What's the point of putting choices in if they're just going to be ignored?
The dating sim aspects feel like an afterthought to the TH stalking. In the Nora route, Sasse goes on a date with her and starts badgering her to ask clients for information on TH (which she doesn't want to do because it's unprofessional and rude) and eventually leaves the date to go stalk someone.
LongStory 1's claim to fame was being a queer-friendly VN meant for a middle-grade audience. It was nice at the time when people were kind of starved for representation. But it's been 10 years, and there are way more options now, and in those 10 years LongStory has done nothing to distinguish itself except get worse, I guess. At least the playtime was so short I was able to complete two routes and still qualify for a refund.
I 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS GAME. LIKES: In LS1, i had to continue to press my m1 button which was super aggravating to say the least, now in LS2 im finally able to press space bar for the conversation to continue rather than m1 and it just makes it so much easier. - thats literally it. DISLIKES: - in the beginning, it keeps saying sasse instead of the name i put, i put the name as "bree" and in the yearbook it still says sasse. - settings menu is bland, we should be given the option to use windowed mode, borderless window, and full screen. - first LS had a save option, there is absolutely no save option in LS2. how am i suppose to know if the game is saved or not? it makes absolutely no sense. my suggestion for that would to do something similar as Life is Strange where before you start the game up it tells you that an icon will appear bottom right indicating that the game is autosaving because at this point, its randomly saving and the fact i have no idea what part is being saved or not is aggravating. - the story was 1 freaking hour OVERALL: This entire game was absolutely beyond awful, and I mean awful. I read some of the reviews and I thought, "I mean, it cant all be true, right?" WRONG, The game literally lasted an hour. The story was about trying to figure out who turkeyhawk was. This story is SUPPOSED to be about the next chapter in our lives, which is high school and yet, we didnt even attend high school at all. It was solely about figuring out who turkeyhawk was and in the end, you NEVER figured it out nor did we get to experience high school with the MC. What should have happened to make this game actually longer was to include drama that happened before high school, but also include them attending high school. Exactly what was the point of LS2? Please tell me what exactly was the point of this entire game? The story is so short, I would literally recommend buying the game, finishing it (which even then I wouldn't waste 14.99 for this game) and then refunding it. You literally have enough time do so. How do you guys do so well with LS1 and then do the exact opposite with LS2? I am beyond disappointed.
Its a VERY VERY quick game, but it was kinda fun for a minute. For a game with so many backers on Kickstarter and for the amount of time it took to make, it felt very rushed. No back button, no save button, very short.
Refunded. I loved the first game (and will be leaving a positive review on that game shortly after I finish writing this) but I was strangely disappointed with the sequel. First off, the length. This game is the same price as the first one but half the length. I think this is a problem by having so much ground to cover and type of weird branching story they decided to write for this one, but I think you could've gotten away with making it more linear and increasing the length. Secondly, the characters. Sasse (MCs default name I will be using for the rest of this review) feels like a caricature. They're much more moody and rude to their mother for no reason, in fact it feels like it's been inverted because they're a lot nicer to their younger brother in this one. The worst part is Sasse's nosiness, it's been played up to 11 to where they won't stop investigating something everyone around them is telling them to stop (even *Hanna*). Hanna is mean and insufferable to everyone around her and is never punished for it in the slightest, and also created a website that straight up harasses multiple people and makes their life worse lol. Everyone else was like fine, I like learning new things about them. Especially Jane since I thought she basically had nothing in the first game. Most of the music is reused from the first game, except the new cover of the main theme which was nice. The UI is worse somehow and I experienced slight clipping issues with the choice icons. Also, there are no settings. Overall, even if you enjoyed the first one, just pass on this one tbh.
Honestly? After the amount of time between the two games this felt more like a mini DLC than a true sequel. I'm left feeling quite disappointed, There are some pros like the relationship I got into and some cute scenes but between that and the turkey the rest of the friend group is kinda absent. 6 chapters is already quite short add on those chapters not being long and chapter 6 probably being the shortest.. I just expected more. 11 years since game 1, yet it feels rushed. Maybe some replayability taking different love interest routes but it won't take all that long. Update: I may have been a little harsh to not recommend the game, replaying different routes showed more layers but I do maintian it feels like a DLC than a true sequel, maybe even a prologue for a third game idk
i dont like that its so short and less content filled than the other game made me upset i got to the end and was very disappointed by the fact it took me less than a day. for a game called long story, this is mad short!!!! I hope (they really should) they make more episodes and longer episodes this is long story afterall can we get back to the tale that is untold? what about the plot that has yet to unfold? when will my new chapter start? today? i really should figure out what to do and what to say!
I like what's there of the game, the problem is, there isn't really that much. This feels like more of a side-story than a proper continuation from the first game, which is especially a shame considering how abruptly the first game left off. If this were a dollar or two I might still recommend it, and if it's ever on sale for like 5 dollars or less its maybe worth considering. But I really did not feel like what's there is worth the asking price. If there's ever any sort of update/extension to this I might consider replaying it. But other than that I definitely can;t see myself replaying this any time soon. Like it was nice, while it lasted, but it didn't really last long enough to be worth it. I also feel calling it a dating simulator is a bit misleading. Like it doesn't seem like there are any opportunities to date anyone if you don't start with an existing relationship.
I’m sorry to say this but this was definitely not a ‘Long’ Story. I’m extremely disappointed with this sequel. I played the first game back when I first started college and I found it endearing. It’s not a perfect game by all means but I couldn’t help but play it about 4 times for the same character (Marcel is best character btw and I loved playing the m x m route of him and Sasse). I was so excited to play the sequel and I immediately bought it. I’m sure some of the other reviews have already mentioned this but the writing and gameplay felt much weaker. I don’t know how many times I yelled at my screen with some of the choices like seriously Sasse chill and give Turkeyhawk some space! I really wanted to see more interactions with the person I was dating and although the ones that were there were cute… it felt like it didn’t add much substance. It was the main reason I played the original so yeah the writing felt much flatter and rushed. Game is waaaaay too short and that’s risky for developers since that would give players the opportunity to refund the game easily. I unfortunately did since the game only took me an hour. I rarely make reviews but I just had to for this game because I was genuinely excited to see what happens next.
As a backer for LS1 and a fan of Later Daters, I am severely disappointed in the quality of this game. Not only are there many typos but it’s incredibly short with little to no content. The entire game feels rushed and as someone who backed it on kickstarter I feel like I got ripped off. I expected the same quality as LS1 and Later Daters. They said they’ve been working on this sequel for years and this is what they have to show for it? Don’t waste your money and wait until it’s on sale for like $5. I just kind of refuse to believe this is the actual finished product. If this is the quality of their games moving forward then I won’t be wasting my money on this company anymore. If you want a great VN that’s LGBTQ+ AND has a fantastic story and mini games, go buy and play “I Was A Teenage Exocolonist”. It’s the best VN I’ve ever played and I can’t stop replaying it it’s so addictive. There are so many endings and secrets to find with every new play through. Now THAT is quality. This? This ain’t it. I hardly leave negative reviews but I feel like this was a beta or early access version. I can’t believe the company thought this was good enough to release when there’s still typos and weird code in the text boxes. They also have fewer control options like saving, fast forward or rewind, etc. Seriously…what happened to this company? Was this just for a quick cash grab? How can they feel proud of this?
ive been waiting for this game for like 10 years and the game is very short its 2 mins of gameplay and also because the game is so short the writing is bad because theyre trying to rush the story, longstory2 has no purpose. they got rid of the options to go back or fast forward or control volume the only option is main menu and resume with how bad this game is you would think they took 5 minutes to release it not 10 years. i could of made this anyway overall 0/10
