Best game to play at the gym between sets
You have to be extremely lucky to win the hardest difficulty (predict 20 rounds in a row). Even by running the same unit compositions on a different PC, the outcome is not the same most of the time, so for most rounds it just becomes guesswork, even if you understand the unit counters.

Behold Battle is a compact, cleverly designed auto-battler developed and published by Lasse Zacho Malver that embraces simplicity as its defining strength. Instead of competing with large-scale strategy games or complex auto-battlers packed with dense systems, it distills the genre down to its most observational core. The game is less about issuing commands and more about understanding outcomes, encouraging players to read situations, recognize patterns, and make educated predictions about how different forces will clash once combat begins. From the outset, it positions itself as a relaxed, almost playful experience that values curiosity and experimentation over mastery and optimization. The central gameplay loop is refreshingly straightforward. Players are shown two opposing armies composed of various fantasy units and must decide which side will win before the battle automatically plays out. Once the fight starts, there is no further player input; the satisfaction comes from watching the encounter unfold and seeing whether your prediction was correct. This design shifts the usual focus of strategy games away from execution and toward analysis, rewarding players who pay attention to unit behavior, positioning, and synergy. Over time, what initially feels like guesswork begins to evolve into informed judgment, as repeated exposure teaches you which combinations tend to dominate and which are deceptively weak. A key part of Behold Battle’s appeal lies in its variety. With dozens of different units available, each bringing distinct strengths, weaknesses, and special traits, battles can range from small, controlled skirmishes to chaotic clashes involving massive creatures and swarms of lesser fighters. Some units excel at soaking damage, others deal devastating bursts, and a few introduce unusual mechanics that can completely shift the flow of combat. This diversity keeps encounters from feeling repetitive and encourages players to refine their intuition, learning how subtle changes in composition can dramatically alter results. Beyond its standard progression mode, the game offers additional ways to engage with its systems. A sandbox mode allows players to freely construct armies and watch them fight, turning the game into a kind of experimental battle simulator. This mode highlights the developer’s confidence in the underlying mechanics, as it invites players to test hypotheses and create absurd or extreme scenarios purely for entertainment. Other variations, such as modes involving spells or betting with in-game currency, add light twists that keep the experience fresh without overcomplicating the core idea. Visually, Behold Battle adopts a minimalist pixel-art style that complements its design philosophy. Units are clearly readable, animations are simple but expressive, and the battlefield never becomes visually cluttered despite the potential for large-scale fights. This clarity is crucial in a game built around observation, as it allows players to easily track what is happening and understand why a particular side is winning or losing. The understated presentation also reinforces the game’s casual tone, making it feel approachable rather than intimidating. The pacing is deliberately gentle. Matches resolve quickly, making it easy to play in short sessions, yet the cumulative learning across multiple battles gives the experience a sense of progression. There are no elaborate upgrade trees or long-term campaigns to manage; instead, improvement comes from the player’s growing understanding of the systems. This makes Behold Battle particularly well suited for players who enjoy games they can dip into casually, without the pressure of maintaining progress or memorizing complex rules. Player reception reflects how well the game achieves its modest goals. Many appreciate its honesty and focus, praising it as a relaxing and entertaining take on the auto-battler concept. At the same time, its intentionally passive nature means it will not appeal to everyone. Players seeking deep tactical control, extensive customization, or competitive depth may find the experience too lightweight. Behold Battle does not attempt to be a comprehensive strategy platform; it is content to be a thoughtful diversion built around watching systems interact. In the end, Behold Battle succeeds by knowing exactly what it wants to be. It is a game about prediction, pattern recognition, and the quiet satisfaction of understanding why one army triumphs over another. Its charm lies in its restraint, offering just enough complexity to stay engaging while remaining accessible and easy to enjoy. For players who find joy in simulated battles, experimentation, and low-pressure strategy, it stands as a small but memorable entry in the auto-battler space. Rating: 7/10
Please developer im begging my achivements bugged when I played offline and I didn't receive them once it went online. The 3 and 5 in a row. I tried solving them in a dumb way, but just made it worse. I think it's because the spectators don't reset when installing and reinstalling, so I have got achievements that I can't get any more. My OCD is killing me here as I can't get all the achievements. Can there be a reset all button on the menu or something please. But besides that, I do enjoy watching the fights and it's different each time. Fair price and does what it says it does. I also like betting real money on who wins xD lowkey a fun way to use the game for high-risk fun. Its been awhile and still cant get the first 3 achievements will change if resolved.
This game is so much fun. at the moment i have only played the betting mode (pretty successfully i might add!) but it was just so much fun to place my bet and watch the chaos unfold. if you are a game spectator/tourist like me I reckon you will enjoy this one!
Веселая убивалка времени!
This is a nice chill game. It is nice to sit with your GF and make some predictions
DO you want to gamble on the outcome of a auto battler?
