One of the levels for combat is someone's shallow grave. This is a super simple colony sim game with some base building elements, basic RTS combat and very straightforward genetics / breeding mechanics. Super enjoyable for fans of simple strategy games or those interested in the genre but need something less complex. The art style is peak too. Gives me a 2005 "my turn for computer stations" in second grade vibe.
I realy do like this game! i love how the item descriptions seem to be written by the beetles. i think it adds some more humor to the game. I also like how you can't fully relly on the spoils of the levels to carry you through the game and have to send them on foraging quests to win. some people might think of it as a complaint, but i think it adds some relisim. the breeding is complex at first, but once you get far in the game it makes more sense. my only complaint is that when a beetle dies, it doesn't wait until the for the foraging quest is over to tell you. it jumpscares me every time.

Lovely game. Could need some rework here and there but overall enjoyable. I just love insect games, ok?
Its a fun game but it fells a bit like a mobile game ported to PC but overall its good

x-- 6/10 --x If you love beetles, this is your game. It was a little bit too overwhelming with the different genetic combination mechanics, etc, but it was a lot of fun to play.
It's decent, a nice time waster. BUT it gets old quick. There isn't enough to do or enough randomization. I like games like this so I would rate it like... 6.5/10 or 7ish. I like breeding the bugs, I like attacking enemies, and I like the little cave. I would love to see a mode where you just breed and sell bugs WITH an option to battle them ;)
bought this out of comedic curiosity but its actually a really fun little game. fights are not tactical at all but overall a fun little game
Breeding is cool, but a timeline would be nice. The "yes i got a good thing" factor could be anhanced, agree with other comments. I just started and got a nice one and secounds later didn't know what it even was again. Over all more RPG than Sim. This is not a beetles life, its a fantasy. The UI is not the best, not to convoluted either. But it leads to a bit cheap first impression and some teadiousness. However: the core of the game is pretty fun and it does not ask for too much money. On sale you will have some fun, if you are into breeding things, to get better things.
