It is a point and click adventure that makes fun of itself a lot and is full of random references. I loved the humor of it a lot, tho without going in to too many spoiler it gets heartbreaking towards the end. My only 2 issues with it is that the voice of one character was really really quiet for some reason (thankfully he didn't show up a lot and there are subtitles) and that you can not get in the settings menu while there is dialogue going on.

Bear With Me - Collector's Edition is a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. This was deleted from Steam, it's unclear exactly why but it could just be because the developers accepted that the game wasn't of sufficient quality to be launched on Steam, and, realizing the error of their ways, took action to correct it. It's a point and click adventure game, inexplicitly in black and white hand drawn art style, where you guide a girl and her talking film noir teddy bear detective to search for her older brother. Point and click adventures are a bit of an old and dead genre now that 3D graphics were invented in 2008, and this wasn't even one of the good ones. The puzzles aren't interesting, the point and click adventuring is monotonous, and the voice acting and other elements of artistic presentation are wooden, tired and uninspiring. There's an overwhelming amount of mediocre Visual Novel/E-book style cutscenes in this game. The developers failed one of the most basic, fundamental requirements of game design.. "Show, don't tell." So you'll spend a huge amount of time not playing the game, but clicking through endless lines of poorly written VN text cutscenes because the developers couldn't work out how to relate their narrative through the game mechanics, and decided instead it would be better to compete with reading a book for your time. We're here to play games, not read through hours of garbage intersituals. My gaming rig is not a Kindle. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game is comprised of somewhat mediocre hand drawn 2D illustrations instead of professional looking 3D game assets. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent. Regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is very low, beneath what PC gamers have come to expect in this era of cutting edge photorealistic 3D graphics. At least it's not pixel "art", but if you're looking for contemporary, immersive visuals, this game is a fail. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Bear With Me - Collector's Edition didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for completing one of the first puzzles, to assemble a magnifying glass, trivial to get, but less than 31 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it. So, if you could get your hands on a key for the game, should you? Nope.

On découvre les deux personnages principaux à la manière d'un film noir sur fond de musique jazzy. Le jeu se présente sous la forme d'un point & click visuellement très réussi. L'humour est omniprésent dans les dialogues et apporte une touche légère à l'ensemble qui se veut assez sombre pour le reste. On progresse petit à petit en compagnie d'Amber et Ted pour tenter de retrouver l'homme en rouge qui sème le chaos dans Paper City. Les deux protagonistes sont attachants et les graphismes en noir et blanc sont réussis. Il participent grandement à créer l'ambiance du jeu. Pour ce qui est du gameplay, on discute aves les différents personnages et on va rechercher les objets qui nous sont utiles. Il faut parfois les combiner afin de pouvoir créer l'objet adéquat. On se laisse prendre par le scénario et on imagine petit à petit qui pourrait être cet homme en rouge et ce qu'il nous veut. On tente de dénouer le fil de l'intrigue alors que le voile se lève progressivement avant de nous révéler la vérité. We are introduced to the two main characters in a film noir style, set against a backdrop of jazzy music. The game is presented as a visually stunning point-and-click adventure. Humor is ever-present in the dialogue, adding a light touch to the otherwise rather somber tone. We progress little by little alongside Amber and Ted as they try to find the man in red who is wreaking havoc in Paper City. The two protagonists are endearing, and the black and white graphics are excellent. They greatly contribute to creating the game's atmosphere. As for the gameplay, we talk to the various characters and search for useful items. Sometimes we have to combine them to create the right object. We become engrossed in the story and gradually imagine who this man in red might be and what he wants from us. We try to unravel the plot as the veil is gradually lifted before the truth is revealed. I've only been playing this game for 5 minutes and I'm already so bored. I wish I could ask for a refund... The dialogues are too long and uninteresting. I don't know what the developers were thinking. Was this game even tested before it went on sale?

I absolutely love this game! The story, haunting visuals, and music create an unforgettable experience. It’s a truly charming game that perfectly balances mystery, puns, humor, and a touch of sadness. If you really invest yourself in it, you’ll find yourself on an emotional rollercoaster. As a strong narrative-driven game, it delivers exactly what I hoped for and more.
