After 19 hours in this game, I load my save at the 4th map, and all my upgrades are gone, back to 3 HP and the starting rifle.. no other weapons, no sprint boots.. nothing, in the middle of the final map. uninstalled.
There are a coupleof things that make this game more frustrating to play than it is fun. 1. You cant remap controls. Just why!? I will never remember to navigate left and right in yhe build menu with triggers. Bumpers are the choice for that kind of navigation almost universally. Same for shooting with X and interacting with A. I waste bullets and time endlessly. Its frustrating. 2. Walking past an elevator is just as likely to send you up/down as past it. If your analoge stick isn’t perfectly level, you are going on a trip. If you could bind movement contols to d-pad, this would be a non-issue. 3. After choosing to construct something, you can't actually build it. He will go to start hammering, but then stop over and over with no progress. After initiating construction you have to run back and forth a little while to actually start the bulding. 4. The tutorial misleads you about barrier construction. They have you place it outside the energy zone. Later when you have bots, they won't be able to repair them. Even later you will get a barrier upgrade that extends even further. That will also not get repaired if you didn't place the barrier far enough back, and as an added bonus, it will bait your repair drone outside of the powered zone where it will uselessly fall to the ground. Awesome. Most of this wouldn't be a deal breaker if you weren't doing things on a timer. If you could move buildings instead of recycling them losing cores. If it didn't take so long to get in and out of an elevator. But it that's how it is. So you spend more time feeling frustrated than enjoying the gorgeous art and story. FFS this is almost a great game. How did they miss these kind of details in playtesting? Awful. I'll be returning it.
The art is gorgeous, the game is sadly just a worse version of Kingdom: Two Crowns (and its gazillion spin offs).
I like how it looks. But not so much the game. It is the kind of game that I could enjoy someone else on YT or Twitch playing it. But I don't have the patience for it. And also, the tutorial sucks. The buttons shown on screen (either for the controller, or the keyboard) are messed up. It has potential, But I won't buy this game again.
A solid game for fans of kingdom and traditional tower defense. Trade the Greed or Zombies for rusted robots and have fun scavenging scrap metal. I will say this game could be really dope if it had some kind of coop but it would need a playerbase to support multiplayer first, it's super early.
Pretty decent game. My main gripe with Kingdom-like games is that most of them really lack in terms of story - Beacon of Neyda is still on somewhat weak side, but I just love the setting and the different AI stories. I dunno there's just something special about AIs trying their all to fulfill their purpose and failing/succeeding to some degree, all the while this purpose is not malicious (we have enough malicious AI in stories, honestly). Most of the story (90% or something) is through different computer logs and they are pretty nice, painting a pretty cohesive picture of sudden chaos and aftershock. Controls are on a bit clunky side, game probably was designed with gamepad in mind as a focus, so keyboard buttons are weird and you can't reasign them. Game mechanics are pretty easily understandable. More variety of enemies/structures could be desired (you have 1 tower each for defence/expand/drones/barricade categories, with drones having 3 types that can be changed freely, while enemies have 1 huge robot, 2 big robots, 2 small robots (one of the fast), 1 hover robot and 1 corrupted drone), but those that are there are nice to look at and are nicely animated. Frankly Kingdom also lacks in this regard. No real reason to replay, since story and maps are completely linear. My only gripe with this is the same as with any other Kindgom-like game - the painfully slow movement speed, when you need to go from one side of the map to the other. Overall a pretty nice game, wouldn't mind a DLC of sorts. Another plus - it's short and sweet. Took me 12 hrs to beat fully, with only 1 actual fail that forced me to restart the map.
This pixelart game is very relaxing and somethimes challenging at the same time. Objectives: Activate beacons, create cores, build sturctures, unlock new tech by fighting in the underground tunnels, test your defenses, defeat some mini bosses. Positives: - simple as nails, easy to learn -the thrill of exploration underground, loot -simple story, no politics -sound/pixelart and enviromental design on spot! -drone management Negatives: -picking up scrap next to damaged buildings -once i had a corrupted save file -switching weapons, drawing the weapons is a chore most of the time! This game definitely worth the price! If you are tired of games with 2 hour long tutorials and just want to get into some simple fun this is your game! Shoot them robots, get scrap and cores, build your defenses! You are the last hope of your people before you go extinct next to the rouge robots, on this colonized planet! SAVE YOUR PEOPLE!
An entertaining game with original systems and beautiful art and atmosphere! Recommended !!
Вы забыли сохраниться? ну опуск получается, потому что этьа помойка может просто зависнуть, и конечно же автосохранений в ней не придумано, потому что разрабы ауты
I've been waiting for this game since the demo. I enjoy kingdom-like games, so, I've completed the game in 3 evenings :) Despite some repeated routine, I can't say that there is too much of it. Just build a defence next to power tower, collector-bot before it, and enjoy steady flow of scrap, which comes to you itself from time to time, while you scout undenground. All things: sound, visuals and gameplay are top notch. Some things could be better: 1 I wish there were an auto-save, I really lost 30 minutes progess a couple of times, until I remembered how it use to be back then, when there was no auto-save in any game. 2 Delays for switching ammo type and for beginning of fire could be shorter. 3 It's nice to have power boots, but I wish there were something even faster, like boots v2, or at least one direction/ one-use fast travel tool, so, you don't need to run, literally, from one corner to another.
