Persian magic school fun! Little cute elemental pets. Not hard at all puzzles. Why is "skull" in one of the H.O. scenes a trophy with green imp horns? The bad guy looks like a bad guy. The mysterious place is the one you want to know the most about. Well liked. All works. Thanks!! :) :> =)
Persian Nights 2: The Moonlight Veil is more of a modern mixed puzzle game. It's sort of a point and click adventure from a first person perspective but its main focus is on casual light puzzles. You will collect things in an inventory and you can interact with certain inventory items, most of which then unlock the ability to do one of the puzzle mini-games. The amount and quality of hidden object puzzles in this game is however disappointing. While this is apparently a sequel to the first game 'Persian Nights: Sands of Wonder' it feels like a completely different universe and only ends up being vaguely tied in if you play the end game bonus content in Ahriman. I didn't care for the story in this one. It didn't feel very Persian and it was not the best writing. Some of it comes of as cheesy and some just unnatural. You don't get much character development and some of the story background never really gets explained. They try to make the villain's identity a twist but try so hard to make you think it's one character you just know it will end up being someone else and there's only two other characters it could be so the surprise element just wasn't there. You are generally given only whatever bit of story you need to move you forward in the game to make looking for something or going somewhere seem like a plausible next step. The story is basic. You and your sister go to a magic academy and some terrible event happens. You want to find your sister to make sure she's okay and end up having to help save the academy... and the world. If you play the bonus content (the end game unlocked Ahriman content) you will see the small tie in to the first game. You'll see the genie Minu again and hear a reference to Darius as well as see some somewhat familiar scenes from the first game. Other than this the two games would feel like a complete disconnect. The voice and sound in the game is well recorded, but nothing sounds particularly Persian and the voice actors sound especially out of places with their very modern American accents. They did a fair job with the voice acting, expressing emotions well and such. If only their lines had been a bit more natural and free flowing. The odd modern American accents were an issue in the first game as well, it's a big shame that they couldn't have done something to remedy that in this one though. Character and Background designs were only modestly Persian looking. It really felt more like renaissance European wizarding with some Middle Eastern influences. From the character's appearances to their clothing to half the items and sets most of it was not Persian or even general Middle Eastern in look. While the backgrounds are nice and characters are well drawn and everything, it just felt like there really should have been a little more effort to make things look and feel Persian... that's the point of calling it 'Persian' Nights isn't it? The puzzles in this game are pretty easy. It's a very casual type game and the puzzles are not meant to challenge you too much. There are a few that will either take a while because they require more steps and a little careful plannning but if those really bother you, you can choose to skip them. I found the hardest thing in the game was more in figuring out what you are supposed to to do next and how to do it than the actual puzzle mini-games. This is because there are many times where I see a situation where I feel like freezing or burning something or stopping time would be a good solution but that's not what you end up having to do. Other times the borders around interactive or collectable objects is too small so even if you've clicked a thing it doesn't register and you think you were wrong and that's not what you need to click only to find out later it was and you just didn't click in the right spot. The hidden object game in my opinion were not good. First sometimes what they describe doesn't seem t match up with what you have. For example, I was told to find a skull and couldn't find it. Had to finally use a hint... it was a trophy cup with no visible skull imagery, features or anything. So, that was frustrating. Anther time I was finding vials and they are very trickily hidden with just a tiny bit sticking out from behind other objects. I swore I had found one but I tried clicking several times around that spot with no luck, went on searching for that last vial for several minute before I finally gave up and used a hint... it was the exact spot I tried clicking several times with no luck. Even after knowing from the hint that's where it was. I failed at clicking it's exact spot several more times. Other than those issues, the problem is that it tellls you to find a lot of make believe items that you don't really know what they are supposed to look like so you just randomly click stuff hoping it's what they are asking for. There are 31 achievements for this game, but most of them unlock naturally through game play. There is a hidden red moon in every major scene that will unlock a special collectable and options for exhausting all the dialogue options but otherwise you are likely to get all of the achievements just by playing the game normally and they can all be gotten in one play-through as long as you find all the red moons and talk whenever you can. That makes it very easy to get 100%, but the lack of more unusual and hard to get achievements makes it feel a little less rewarding. One play-through is likely to take about 4-5 hours which is decent. If you like casual puzzle games that aren't going to challenge you too much you'll probably enjoy this game. I'm recommending it but only barely, it was okay, but you'd be better off playing the first one if you've not played either and I think there's more enjoyable puzzle games you could play than this.
Genre
Ein Hidden Object Adventure
Story
Achievement Schwierigkeit 3/10
Es gibt insgesamt 31 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man u.a. das Spiel beenden, alle Gesprächsoptionen bei allen Dialogen wählen & alle Rätsel ohne Überspringen lösen
Pro/Contra
+ Story ist OK + Gute Atmosphäre + Nette Wimmelbildszenen + Nette Rätsel (bis auf das Schiebe Puzzle) + Voice Acting ist für ein HoG überraschend ordentlich + Achievements + Sammelkarten - Der Grundpreis ist etwas zu Hoch
Fazit
Ein weiteres Gutes Hidden Object Game aus dem Hause Artifex Mundi. Hier kann man eh nie was Falsch machen.

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
So weit, so gut.
Everyone is dumb as dirt in this game wow its like Harry Potter meets Arabian Nights
Beatiful art and nice puzzles. Story is very interesting fantasy! Voices is ok too.
Not nearly as good as the first game. The story is pretty meh, as are the characters. The voice acting is also worse. Puzzles are less fun and it relies too much on using the little pets it introduces (which are kinda cute, but get old really quick when you have to use them for half the puzzle solutions). Overall disappointing, considering the first game was one of the best Hidden Object Games I've played.
