Developed and published by 洛米条, BattleshipCrafting presents an ambitious blend of roguelike progression, arcade-style space combat, and an extensive ship-building system that places player creativity at the forefront of the experience. Set in a future where Earth has fallen to an alien invasion, the game casts players as a transformed space warrior seeking vengeance among the stars. While the storyline serves mainly as a backdrop for the action, it establishes a fitting science fiction setting that supports the game's emphasis on continuous battles, experimentation, and survival. Rather than relying on an elaborate narrative, BattleshipCrafting focuses on delivering replayable gameplay through evolving builds and unpredictable encounters. The game's defining feature is its remarkably flexible battleship construction system. Instead of limiting customization to equipping stronger weapons, players are encouraged to assemble their spacecraft from a vast selection of offensive systems, support machines, and enhancement modules. Every component can influence how the ship performs in battle, making placement and synergy just as important as raw firepower. This design encourages players to test countless combinations in search of powerful interactions, ensuring that each run offers opportunities to discover new strategies. The emphasis on customization gives players considerable freedom to shape their own combat style, making progression feel rewarding through experimentation rather than simple stat increases. Combat is built around fast-moving, top-down shooting mechanics where maneuverability and quick decision-making are essential. Swarms of enemies, dense projectile patterns, and increasingly dangerous encounters demand constant movement while taking full advantage of the capabilities of a customized battleship. Because every player can build a different ship, battles can unfold in dramatically different ways depending on weapon loadouts and support systems. The game also introduces adjustable ship attributes, allowing players to modify certain statistics to create specialized builds. This feature adds another strategic layer by rewarding players who are willing to sacrifice one strength in exchange for another, opening the door to creative and unconventional playstyles. Replay value appears to be one of BattleshipCrafting's strongest selling points. The Bloodline System introduces randomized upgrades that evolve throughout each run, ensuring that no two playthroughs are exactly alike. Combined with a large collection of obtainable equipment, the game encourages players to continually adapt as new opportunities emerge. The inclusion of 25 handcrafted stages provides a structured journey, while an endless mode offers an ongoing challenge for those who want to push their creations to the limit. These systems work together to reinforce the roguelike formula, rewarding repeated attempts with fresh combinations and new tactical possibilities. Visually, BattleshipCrafting embraces a colorful futuristic style filled with energetic weapon effects and spacecraft designs that prioritize readability during hectic firefights. The presentation may not aim for cutting-edge realism, but it effectively supports the gameplay by keeping the action clear even during intense battles. The Steam page also openly states that the visual assets were created using generative AI, reflecting transparency from the developer regarding the production process. Whether this influences a player's overall impression will largely depend on personal preference, but the disclosure allows players to make an informed decision before purchasing. Although the game has an exciting foundation, its long-term success will ultimately depend on execution. A system built around hundreds of components and numerous possible combinations requires careful balancing to keep experimentation enjoyable without allowing a handful of builds to dominate the experience. If BattleshipCrafting succeeds in maintaining meaningful diversity across its customization options, it has the potential to stand out among indie roguelikes by offering a satisfying mix of creativity, strategy, and fast-paced action. Its concept demonstrates clear ambition, particularly for a project centered on player-driven ship design. Overall, BattleshipCrafting appears to offer a compelling take on the roguelike shooter genre by making ship construction the core of its gameplay rather than a secondary feature. The combination of extensive customization, randomized progression systems, challenging combat, and multiple gameplay modes creates a promising package with strong replay potential. While its final quality will only become clear after release, the ideas presented suggest a title that could appeal to players who enjoy experimenting with unique builds while overcoming increasingly difficult space battles.
