I wish there was an ehhh choice instead of yes or no. But I think overall it will be frustrating to play through the campaign for most, so I choose "no'. Thing is I actually really like the game, its a neat port of a great board game. The graphics are fun, and the ui is solid. I hear you, "if you like it, why not recommend it?" Well, it has a very major problem. The dice rolls are skewed in the computer's favor. The game only gives you a 17% chance to hit, where as the AI enemy has a much higher chance, and rolls more dice on the average. So what could be a great battle strategy comes down to being frustrated most the time because you never actually hit anything. I've stacked multiple units against one enemy to maximize my chances to see every time out of nine rolls no hits. I thought, maybe I have the difficulty to high, to only find no setting for it. I then looked at the reviews, and saw this is a normal and average complaint. I wish is wasn't the case. A difficulty setting would fix everything. I have not played multi-player, so I cannot review that. I'm, guessing and hoping it will be more balanced since there is no AI. We shall see, as I plan to give it a shot. Sadly, I don't see completing the story mode though, since after the same mission 10 times, I just can't look at it any more.

I didn't want to believe the existing reviews that the rng was so bad that the enemies combat results were SO much better than your. I should have listened. It IS that bad. No amount of good strategy can overcome the horrific combat results. You NEED massive luck to win after the first couple missions which are basically the tutorial.
This is a decent 2014 mobile port of a fun but RNG-heavy fantasy board game. There are quite a few changes from the original physical game, but all changes seem to have been made to keep the game flowing smoothly. Some examples: - The Lore phase is now at the start of the turn instead of the end and no longer involves player choice, speeding up gameplay. - Command cards are now divided into basic and unique cards, and the basic cards can be refreshed, adding strategic depth while reducing RNG. The game comes with a fun singleplayer campaign with a few branching paths. I have not tried the multiplayer mode. The narration and animation are good, the sound design and music are serviceable. My only real complaint is that players not familiar with the board game might like to know what possible sides are on the dice being rolled, which this digital version never communicates to the player. For example, it's never mentioned that ranged hits are on only 1/6 sides while melee hits (for non-weak units) are on 2/6 sides.
The game is just to difficult as in depends on luck not strategy. The dice like everything ells in the game seem to favour the AI strongly!! Only luck give you a change to win once in a while. Difficulty levels might have helped, but there is none for you to choose.
Love this game. Decent adaptation of the Command & Colors system
Horribly unbalanced for the computer. Your dice rolls will be bad over and over while the computer opponent continues to roll multiple hits. It is clearly poor design to try to create a challenge and you'll find yourself restarting missions just two turns in after half your units are decimated to no casualties to them. Do not purchase, better to throw your money into a gutter :)
It's unbelievable how well the cpu ALWAYS roll.
The amount of time I have spent playing this game is embarrassing. Very good implementation.
I enjoy this game. I have always enjoyed tactical battlefield board games and this is a reasonable digital version of Battlelore. Many have commented on here that the AI seems to regularly roll better than you do, and this is indeed true. However for me this wasn't such a big deal, I find this to be common in these kinds of games, and I didn't feel that the dice roll difference was so glaring that it made the game impossible or unreasonable. I felt that superior tactics still won out over unlucky dice rolls and that when I have lost in a battle to the AI, it was generally due to a mistake I made, something I missed, or a unit I neglected to appropriately use or consider. However if you are placing your hope in nailing a perfect dice roll on a gambit level move to take the battle ... you definitely shouldn't expect the game to show you any mercy. Overall, it is a decent digital version of a tactical board game. It is certainly worth getting if you like these types of games and it's on sale. Recognize that it's not the kind of game that is going to keep you up at night playing for hours, but the sort of game you play every once in a while when you feel like a relatively quick tactical game.
Nice implementation of the original board game with good twists. Campaign Mode rocks. Multiplayer is great with LAN mode especially (no bandwidth consumption when I play local is a nice touch). What else do you need?
