Game got quite worse from its demo state IMO (80 hours in-demo). -The already poor balance situation now got even more hopeless: several new combinations of trinkets, trainers and dozens of new monsters were just dumped on top of everything. -Previous balance issues were more or less fully ignored; so now with all these new things added it will be exponentially worse to fix things. Quite frankly I don't believe it can even be done or that the will to do it exists at this point. -The new music tracks are bad. They are "disconnected" from the feel and flow of the original tracks and are inferior in quality. It's as if they found a new musician, had him listen to the old OST once and told him to expand upon it. Actually had to mute due to how bad it was. -I also disliked the new "region" of monsters we got, which you can unfortunately not fully opt out of because even if you play in the original region as there are ways (such as events) for the new region monsters to intrude. +The QoL improvements were welcome of course. All that being said I don't see myself investing on this even a fraction of the time I did in the demo.

Great autobattler. I played the Demo/early access for quite a while and have seen metas shift with balance patches. So yes, something will always feel "too strong" or oppressive, but that's the status quo for any competitive game with seasonal updates. Something will get nerfed and the next "optimal thing" will be decided upon by the community, and round and round we go. As I read some negative reviews, though, I'm surprised that some of the builds people are complaining about are things I never feel troubled with. As with most autobattlers, if you are winning early and try to ride that momentum to an "early" 10-win, you will only face others who are on that win count at that day, i.e. others that are trying to push tempo. However, if you sandbag or are going for a late-game/scaling strategy, you'll eventually meet others who made the same judgement call. Perhaps some people that are troubled by unwinnable board states should try different playstyles/trainers. Speaking of which, I've also seen some reviews talk about unwinnable or stacked-odds opponent encounters. I feel that some of these complaints just come from a lack of game knowledge regarding possibilities. For example, someone could start with Monster Ranger and then get a Green Stone in their opening shop, ergo you meet them on literally turn 1 and they have two uncommon monsters plus two commons, while you have just 2-3 commons yourself. Don't trust anyone that tries to tell you that this means they were matched with an opponent who was ahead of them on the days/turns. They just need to play more. ;)
It's a simplified League of Legends Teamfight Tactics (TFT) with quick asynchronous ranked PvP, some additional RNG mechanics, and a small amount of creature collection peppered in. Overall, for $10, I think it's a worthy entry to anyone's library who is a fan of asynchronous PvP.

PROS
- The mechanics are extremely similar to TFT but the meta elements are significantly simplified, which makes it a different enough game to have its own audience - In some ways, the simplicity is nice, and it lends itself to fast-paced "runs" that are over within about 10 minutes. - An additional meta is added which is trainer choices: you are given a random selection of trainers to choose from at the beginning of the match which introduces new strategy and RNG. - Compared to TFT, the pool of "heroes" (or "batomon" in this case) is far greater, which adds to the flavor - TFT Season 18 "Wisp" items are a permanent feature in this in the form of "trinkets"
CONS
- The simplicity withdraws some of the strategy. For instance: - Income does not scale with your current gold quantity and you cannot choose XP over gold-- this removes the econ choices that are a significant part of the TFT meta - Hero positioning mechanics are few and far between, this is mostly expected with only 6 position tiles - You do not equip items to heroes ("batomon") - There are not "factions" combinations for having X amount of a specific "type" of Batomon, although this is minorly compensated for by having trainer "attributes" and some trinkets or abilities that rely on the "type" - As for the creature collection portion, don't expect the known tropes of either an overworld to explore or a gacha/lootbox reward approach for unlocking new creatures. Honestly this bit seems a little lackluster compared to what I expected for having "Creature-collecting" leading the description of the game on Steam.
