Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 14 → 0/day in the week after.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Thank God for the instant ko feature because late game is straight bull
2/5 (Parts Worth Playing Once) I *like* the games. Years ago, I played Origins and have some nostalgia for it. But *liking* a game isn't the same as *recommending* a game. The battle system is still unique in the RPG space, and the world is unique. But there are some badly-designed bosses (mostly ones that spawn new meatshields), and even with one-hit-KO and game speed increased through the pause menu, this is from an era where grinding was mandatory, not optional. I got the nostalgia hit I was seeking. If you have nostalgia, go ahead and you know what you're getting. If you haven't played them, I can't recommend them, though.

Haven't even really played the remaster yet, but I did and still do love Baten Kaitos as one of my favorite jRPG series ever, I want this to have another +1. English VA being gone from BKO sucks, and TBH I'm the sort of person that'd still prefer some terrible (but not universally bad) English work as I don't know Japanese. But there's a mod for that.
PEAK
This is lovely. Have not played the original, so this is my real first foray into the franchise. This looks and feel A LOT like a mix of Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy X. The card battle system is super fun. Not super complicated, but it's got enough dept to get you going. The soundtrack is amazing, and it's from Sakuraba, from Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile fame. This is easy to recommend to anyone looking to play 2 solid JRPGS from the golden years of gaming.
half and half on reccommending this game (I've not played origins and i don't think I have the motivation to do so after lost ocean) I remember seeing this on sale all the way back when you actually went to the store to buy games - Always thought it looked some what interesting but never liked the sound of deck building as a 14 year old or whatever. The deck building is actually pretty fun, though not really all that interesting - It doesn't really change all that much throughout the game, you have your SP numbers, card attack values and combos but that's it really, your cards simply get stronger and easier to combo as the game goes on, it doesn't meaningfully evolve in any way. I didn't interact with ANY 'SP combos' or what ever they're called, literally 0 secret combos found. I didn't want to either, especially after reading online theres cards that take any where from 8-40 hours to evolve just to use in battle. The story isn't really all that interesting, it's like if you crossed FFX with ecstasy. I didn't really feel like it worked, it felt pretty disjointed and the floating continent of Mira was a massive acid trip that i felt like the game fell off from that point forward and overstayed its welcome. I've read for years and years about the amazing 'Twist' in this game - It's really not that shocking and not much of a twist at all, if anything i felt pretty let down and expected given that main characters motivation. the battle system is SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, if you speed it up it also applies to the time you have to select cards so you often miss combos or defensive cards. The battle system isn't really explained at all so you'll have to google/youtube. (Honestly it's pretty simple and you can mostly ignore it apart from a few infamous encounters) It's basically just a fancy "collect 4 crystals to save the world" original FF kinda story but in a nutty back drop. Dunno man, was fun but then i jsut wanted it to end. Give it a go if you like deck builders.
its just ok
Baten Kaitos : Not your typical J-RPG, but better than I expected. Also really like the aesthetics, reminds me a bit of Final Fantasy IX. But seriousluy, is Kalas wearing CROCS????
