I've been playing rpgs since the original Zelda came out in the summer of 1987 ---- and there are a huge number of them that have been available through the years, and now the popularity of the "old school" rpgs has grown enormously over the past few years ---- and there are a great many to choose from here at Steam. So when a game, or, in this case, a group of games rises above all the rest and becomes among the best of the best, it should be written about and it should certainly be played. So here is this small review for this outstanding and hugely entertaining game. This developer has created 6 games, including this most recent one, and they are all excellent. And the games seem to take a step up in quality with each release. This latest game once again shows what CAN be done with the RPGMaker as the attention to detail is apparent in every scene. Characters are fleshed out in a way that captures and keeps your attention from each one's first appearance to the end. The scenery is fantastic and rendered in great detail which yields a ton of things to look for, an abundance of secrets, and a fresh look throughout the game. The challenge is at just the right level so you never get bored leveling your party, and the emphasis is kept on the story and moving it forward. And I have always thought that the backbone of any rpg is the story --- and this one is original, interesting, and full of humor that all combine to keep the pace right on track. So how great is it that we have this developer making these games for us to enjoy? He is showing the way for new people if they want to create games, and he has set the bar very high. This game is fun, and a true delight, and should not be missed by any fan of these games. An outstanding winner!

This is yet another awesome game from Shane. This game does not disappoint it has many treasures to find and places to explore. The battle mechanics are not overwhelming, easy to learn and challenging enough to make you think but not overwhelming that makes you not want to explore. I am loving this game as with all the other games by this developer. You more than get your monies worth, it is a very lengthy game and I am enjoying every minute of it. If you are hesitant in trying this game don't be you will love it.
Another outstanding rpg from Shane as he has incorporated all the best elements an rpg should have. Length, addictive game play, great number of party members to interchange, each with their unique skills, are only just a handful of reasons to play this game. With tons of items, weapons, and armor, it is fun to build up each character to its limits. Enemies are plentiful, well designed, varied, and battles are challenging with many skills to use for each character. Good stuff as game has different party members having their own main quest and then united all together later on in the game. As in all of Shane's rpgs, Barry of Wrath is a must play for hours of enjoyment and a top-notch rpg experience. As where most rpg developers abandon their game, Shane responds immediately to questions and problems, with bugs fixed immediately. Now that is admirable dedication to all his players.
The creator has an excellent grasp of RPG Maker mechanics. There's a lot to like about the unique combat mechanics and character progression. All of the classes bring something to the table and choosing party composition is difficult (in a good way). This kind of balance is rare, even in AAA games.
great game beautiful graphics interesting story lots of funny comments -a guide would be helpful - lots of items to be found in chests etc - no way of crafting many items found which would have been useful - ve point system not available until character reaches level 30 which is annoying- need to be aware of what team works best especially later in the game- also game splits into different parties later which is interesting to do- also hidden areas to be found- a long game but well worth playing
Despite the hours saying I've only played for two hours (dunno why) I have just beaten this right around 30 hours. Anyone familiar with Wolf's Moon Studios knows that their games are of a great calibre and this one does not disappoint in the least. I am a yuge fan of JRPG's and this is easily one of my top 5 favourite. Highly recommend to anyone!
Great game :) Loved the characters :) Fairly straightforward to follow, and about 22 hours playtime for me.
This game is much better than I thought it would be. It's nice to be able to get special skills leveled up after a certain level and it made the team much stronger. Not too much dialogue and I like that. Not a fan of the grinding I had to do but that's ok too. Recommended for those of us who love this type of game.
Just helping support the dev by posting a positive review. I encourage others to do the same because 9 positive reviews doesnt do this game a service in my opinion. Story telling and mapmaking might not be the devs strong points but literally everything else from balance, itemisation to combat etc is excellent. If your a RPGmaker player who prefers low story with excellent combat then this game is for you. The final boss was a blast to defeat too it really put me to the test. Well done dev.
Best one yet! The story is hilarious, the spells and abilities feel fantastic, and the maps are all fantastic. Definitely recommend picking it up. It's a phenomenal game, you won't regret it. Phenomenal game.
