Baobabs Mausoleum Ep.2: 1313 Barnabas Dead End Drive

Now that i have played first instalment of Baobabs Mausoleum nothing would stop me in trying the second one. So I begin scratching the surface of the game and must say it is a total head scratcher. It has hidden mini-games and figuring out the puzzles at hand are but a few of the adventures you embark on. However I did find that the lack of control options over the sound rather annoying. Why is it that no one puts in narration these days when making games? But these are minor issues even in the grand scheme of things! I must admit, I truly like that fact that the game is made to handle the 1080 resolution even while using the 90s styled graphics. When it all comes down to it, if you take the time to dive into this strange and weird side winding adventure, you might be surprised! I know I am, Enjoy.

I've played both episodes and Baobabs Mausoleum Ep.2 is longer and better than the previous one. In that episode there is no such linearity, we are free to explore the town of Flamingo's Creek. That's amazing. The character and NPC's are funny and very weird, but that's the spirit of the game. One of the great news is the Night/Day Cycle. When you play by day, it's a Sunny day in Flamingo's Creek, and if you play by night, the game is different. That's awesome but it forces us to play at different times. The graphics are the same as the previous episodes, but I notice there is more details in some parts of the village. I also appreciate that the main character can run. That helps us to go faster and explore everything. There is some little collision bugs, but nothing very uncomfortable to play. Concerning the music... a pleasure for my ears. Still waiting for the french translation. This game give me better feelings than the first, congratulations!

One of the 2 most different games that I've played!

it's just as weird as episode one, and this one seems to have a different focus. the gameplay largely remains the same, but it doesn't always adhere to it, same as Ep 1. It's strange, puzzles almost never make sense.. and it's delightful. the art is again, nice and charming - the VHS filter ( which can be turned off, btw ) is great - and frustrating at the same time with those effects sometimes covering text, lol. the intro made me smile more than it should have. i won't spoil that. The " hidden minigame " is still great, I enjoyed it way more than the main game after I unlocked it. ( Thanks Freddy! )

I really enjoyed the first game. I might enjoy this one too if some of the bugs get fixed. I dont know how it plays on other devices but on my Mac the controrls are unbearably slugish and it likes to freeze up. It makes the game almost completly unplayable.

Much longer and better than the first episode. NOW you can feel the madness of the town and its citizens. Also there is two Flamingo's Creek: naght and day. I got lost in the town and (of course) I had a great time resolving some of the puzzles!

This sequel has you exploring the town to resolve the conflict that arose at the end of the previous episode. It's a neat town, but do note that the time of day affects who and what will show up, and that's tied to your PC clock. An NPC tells you this during the day, but if you work during the day, and can only play this at night, you'll never know; bad move. You can also switch between day and night by pressing P; it never tells you this at all. Overall, it just isn't quite as good as the first episode; it's still plenty weird, and I loved that, but it ends with one of those mazes where choosing the wrong direction takes you back to the very beginning, and only some of the screens have clear visual cues as to which way to go. And it takes you back SLOWLY; your patience is wearing thin, but you still have to wait for it to fade out and back in without the ability to move EVERY TIME. Everything is slow, even pressing the button to skip the text crawl; controls are very delayed in most everything that isn't just walking around. That's a problem in the first episode, too, but it really starts to wear away at you here.

Der Spielumfang ist größer. Die schlecht umgesetzten 3d Shooter Bereiche wurden abgesehen von einem 10sek Moment raus genommen. Die Musik und Grafik ist die selbe wie in Teil 1. Was ja auch gut war. Die Rätsel wurden etwas schwerer als in Teil 1. Kein nerviges Passwort was man außerhalb des Spiels auf der Homepage (die es nicht mehr gab) suchen musste. Man merkt eine deutliche Steigerung zu Teil 1. Dennoch gebe ich kein Stern hoch. Da dem Spiel irgendwie noch was fehlt das ich sagen kann: "Das hat Spaß gemacht, das war geil" oder der gleichen. Schade das man nicht Sterne verteilen kann wie bei Amazon. Dann wären es 1/5 geworden. Die nur Daumen hoch und Daumen runter Politik ist scheisse. Great game, the best sound track ever, loved EP1 and am loving EP2.
