When Banished was first released, some people remarked that the game is incredibly difficult. I disagree. Just do [u]not[/u] build [spoiler]mines[/spoiler] (they are nonrenewable deathtraps) and import all your [spoiler]stone/iron/coal[/spoiler] from trading posts (construct multiple). Then [u]only[/u] use [spoiler]stone houses[/spoiler] in order to save firewood during winters (sell excess for profit). Other than that, make sure your farming plots are optimal sizes, educate all your citizens, and make sure you keep your population steady (avoid surges of elderly dying from old age simultaneously). I have never once had a village collapse following this advice. Overall, it is a fun and fairly relaxing city builder with a satisfying agricultural system (there is just something pleasing about seeing fields of crops growing and a market filled to the brim with food) that does not overburden you with an excessive amount of complexity.
Even though this is an old game (in game terms) I can not stress how much I love this game. If you are in to city builders or civilization builders then this will be the game for you. I wish they would come out with an updated version and take your town further in development, but what it is now I am fully satisfied.
Good foundation for a town building RTS, but it goes nowhere without story campaign or any sort of threat. Still fun for a few hours

Still a great World Builder. Challenging on multiple levels simultaneously. Enough activities to keep a small town busy. Just getting started by can tell this one is a keeper.
