BALL x PIT is a fast-paced fantasy roguelite where heroes must find the balls to plunge deeper into a seemingly bottomless pit of monsters. Develop arcane ammunition and resources in pursuit of treasure, recruiting additional heroes to aid you in your perilous quest.
Ballbylon has fallen. After a meteoric and completely unexpected event annihilated the great city, all that remains is an ominous, yawning pit. Treasure hunters from far and wide flock to the city’s tomb to seek their fortune, plumbing the depths in search of Ballbylon’s scattered riches. Few return.
The pit plays host to armies of barbaric creatures, hellbent on ending your quest before it even begins. Armed with a growing arsenal of magic-infused projectiles, batter your way through multiple levels of increasingly challenging obstacles to claim the ultimate prizes and rebuild New Ballbylon.

Balls that will make you bleed, balls that will set you on fire, balls that will make you blind, etc. And you can even fuse your balls into one big bad ball! Or, even better, evolve your balls! So if you like playing with balls, this is THE game for you.

I find myself with lots of negative things to say about Ball x Pit. I wish more of the playable characters took bigger, wilder swings with the game mechanics; for every character that completely turns the game upside down, there are three "projectiles now move slightly differently" characters. And I question whether the roguelike looping structure was the best template for the game's particular arcade style. And I lament a postgame that quickly dries out for lack of shiny new features to play with. But these are the criticisms you make about a friend you like, who everyone likes, so you feel comfortable saying them. I feel comfortable jabbing at missed opportunities in Ball X Pit because the underlying truth is so well-known that it can nearly go unsaid: this is a rock-solid game with satisfying mechanics and a fun, chunky goth-y PS1 aesthetic that just about anybody can enjoy, one of the easiest games to recommend on any platform, and an admirable accomplishment by the talented devs.

BALL x PIT ist nettes Gelegenheitsspiel, das die typischen Roguelite Bullet-Hell-Mechaniken mit einem motivierenden Basenbau verbindet. Das Spiel hat einen guten Fluss. Fast jede Runde schaltet man neue Gebäude frei, die weitere starke Fähigkeiten bieten. Die verschiedenen Charaktere haben unterschiedliche Spielstile. Aber ich finde einige machen keinen großen Spaß zu spielen und sind nur dazu da, um spielerische Vielfalt vorzugaukeln. Auch im letzten Drittel des Spiels, nachdem man die meisten Gebäude gebaut und aufgelevelt hat, offenbart sich ein etwas zäher Grind. Die Entwickler versuchen diesen Endgrind zu kaschieren, indem sie dem Spieler einen Charakter zur Verfügung stellen, der das Spiel von alleine spielt. BxP hat einen netten Artstyle. Ich hatte keine technischen Probleme. Es lief mit bombenfesten FPS. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist eher für Einsteiger ins Genre als für Veteranen gedacht. Ball x Pit bietet mit seinem clever umgesetzten Spielmechaniken gute Unterhaltung.
I declare this is the funnest rougelite I've ever played! And I've played quite a few. The initial gameplay loop of being a brick breaker roguelite is a fantastic hook. The secondary gameplay loop of building a idle city, THAT'S ALSO A BRICK BREAKER, is peak theming The balance of the balls are all incredible that you could very easily go through mixing and matching random combinations and still do well all game. However with that the balls quickly become pretty same-y with time. But hold on if the balls get stale then you can start looking to complete your whole encyclopedia just to discover there's TERTIARY COMBINATIONS IN THE GAME. Fast forward 50 hours in the game and you're trying to combine like 9 different balls into one omega powered ball! Oh I forgot about all the different champions that all have a different feel to them that ACTUALLY ARE SUPER FUN TO PLAY INDIVIDUALLY. Normally I quickly find my favorite one or two characters and then default to them, but these guys are all super fun and interesting to see their interactions. Thank you guys for making a baller game!!!
