About
Backrooms Lost Runners is a cooperative survival-horror experience where teamwork is your only real weapon
and even your voice can put you in danger.
Trapped inside the endless corridors of the Backrooms, you and your friends must explore abandoned camps, solve environmental puzzles, manage scarce resources, and survive encounters with entities that react to sound, light, and movement. Every dark hallway hides a threat. Every whisper can give you away. Every wrong decision can separate the group forever.
Immersive Horror Atmosphere
Venture through dimly lit corridors, abandoned shelters, and unstable spaces filled with oppressive silence, dynamic lighting, and realistic sound design. In the Backrooms, every footstep matters and every moment of silence feels wrong.

Cooperative Survival
Survival depends on communication, trust, and coordination. Share resources, split responsibilities, solve puzzles together, and make difficult choices as a team. Staying together is safer but sometimes the best loot is found far from the group.
True Cooperative Gameplay
Collaboration is crucial for survival. Manage your resources, coordinate tactics via voice chat, and make collective choices.

Voice-Reactive Threats
Face entities with different behaviors and weaknesses. Some react to sound. Some hunt through darkness. Some appear when your mind starts to break. Learn how they behave, stay quiet when needed, and use your environment to survive.

Sanity System
Darkness, fear, isolation, and supernatural events affect your mental state. Stay near light, heat sources, and safe areas to slow sanity loss. If your mind collapses, the Backrooms will begin to change around you.
Tesseract Afterlife
Death is not the end. When you die, you are pulled into a surreal Tesseract realm where you must find a way back to life. But returning may cost you time, resources, and the safety of your team.

Storyline & Quest System
Discover journals, audio recordings, floppy disks, and unsettling traces of survivors. Piece together the timeline of the catastrophe, uncover the fates of those who were here before you, and find out what is really happening inside the Backrooms.

Resource Management & Character Progression
Scavenge for food, clothing, and tools to maintain health, stamina, and sanity. Will you risk venturing alone for high-value loot, or stick close to your squad?
Find valuable items and resources by exploring camps, lockers, and shelters.

Reality-Bending Anomalies
Zero-gravity zones, sudden teleportation gates, shifting walls, broken physics, and impossible spaces will force you to question what is real. In the Backrooms, the environment itself can become the enemy.
YOUR ADVENTURE IS JUST BEGINNING.

smiler is a spawn camper. literally cannot survive for 1 second after respawning because the smiler comes straight for me immediately even if i'm quiet, no flashlight, in light. nothing worked to survive this portion of the game and i'm PISSED. it feels personal. and i hate following that stupid orb to respawn. pls fix. it was so fun up until that point. don't play in your luteal phase.
**Lost Runners** has all the ingredients to become an excellent Backrooms experience. The level design is genuinely impressive, the environmental storytelling is strong, and the worldbuilding does a fantastic job of making the labyrinth feel mysterious, oppressive, and worth exploring. The lore is surprisingly engaging, and the voice acting is more than competent, helping sell the atmosphere without feeling overdone. Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn't always live up to the world it's built around. The heavy emphasis on survival mechanics, frequent respawns, and platforming often gets in the way of what should be the game's greatest strength: exploration. Instead of building tension, these systems frequently become a source of frustration, forcing you to repeat sections or endure mechanics that feel more punishing than rewarding. There were several moments where I found myself thinking less about uncovering the next unsettling corner of the Backrooms and more about whether I wanted to replay the last five minutes yet again. That's a shame, because beneath those rough edges is an experience I genuinely wanted to get behind. Despite the frustration, I kept playing because the environments and lore were compelling enough to keep pulling me forward. Every new area felt like it had something interesting to discover, and the developers clearly put a lot of thought into crafting a unique interpretation of the Backrooms mythos. As it stands, I'd recommend it with some reservations. If the survival mechanics are rebalanced, the platforming tightened up, and some of the more tedious repetition reduced, I could easily see this becoming one of the better games in the genre. Right now, it's a game with tremendous potential that's held back by design choices that too often mistake frustration for challenge. update: i was unable to complete the current itteration of the game due to a gamebreaking bug which prevented specific mission critical items from spawning. There is a community guide with instructions on how to potentially alter save files but this burden should not be left to the community. It seems that there are others experiencing the same and/or similar game-breaking bugs.
Game only costs $14.00 and it was fun. Looking forward to updates.
This is the best Backrooms game i have played. I loved the survival elements and the story also. Can't wait to see this game develop!
iyiydi
I was looking forward to this game and bought it full price for 14 bucks. None of the reviews i saw mentioned the game is less than 2 hours long. Frankly, i expect a lot more than 2 hours of playtime for an indie game for 14 dollars. Backrooms escape together is 10 dollars and many hours of content. I feel duped and I don't appreciate it not being clear that this is a tech demo much more than a game.
