Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 23 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Backpack hero is a really fun game who's gameplay loop doesn't benefit as much as it thinks it does by it's wide variety of loot. Once it clicks with you that the backpack based gameplay never really changes despite there being other characters with different backpack gimmicks, it still boils down to space management and clicking on different items to apply some buffs, debuffs, and differently applied numbers. Is that a bit reductive? Sure, but there is rarely anything introduced that really shakes up the gameplay to offer something new and the item synergies that you can find all boil down to numbers going up or down which make finding new items and new synergies pretty underwhelming. For a good while Backpack Hero is genuinely fun but it offers way too much for what it is. The town building mechanics while a fun distraction are not in depth enough to be engaging on their own and requires way too much of a grind without offering much exciting in return. The sheer amount of different items are neat to find but their actual implementation are almost purely cosmetic giving me little reason to get excited about doing runs past the 10ish hour mark of the game. Honestly, this would be a perfect phone game and it's mechanics serve better as a positive-feedback distraction machine than a full blown game. While far from bad, it just lacks the depth other rougelites have that keep me coming back to them.

Really enjoyed it... story mode kept me playing instead of just messing around. I do wish the town-building aspect was better, though. I get the whole “+5% effectiveness from a crate” thing, but some of us like to make the place look nice too… and with prices going up exponentially, that’s almost impossible. Loved those moments when I had an overpowered build, yet some random mechanic like poison or spikes could still completely ruin my run... frustrating, but in a fun way. The item designs were great! Cool concepts and very well made overall. One thing I’d change is letting players choose their starting relic. I only really liked a few of them, so I often just restarted until I got what I wanted. Story was kind of mid, but definitely not bad. The gameplay was fun overall, though it could get frustrating at times.
Backpack Hero is a game that feels incomplete, lacking a proper conclusion to the story, etc. It a game that feels downright broken in places as you crash the game again doing the exact same basic thing that absolutely should work, like using a something's transform function. Or having no way for you to get past the credit screen after you beat the story. It is however a really, really fun game mechanically. There's so many possible ways to set up a bag and so items to work with that it really captures the imagination. Things are surprisingly well balanced too, with very little feeling useless, or being so powerful that they outshine everything else. It's also mechanically deep enough that spending some time with the community figuring out how to make the most of things can turn items and characters that initially seem weak into powerhouses. It has so many different challenges, and little bits of lore to unlock and costumes, etc. I don't regret any time spent on this game. I just had fun. But it is still a flawed gem. There are things that seem like they're never going to be fixed, and you're going to have to live with those.
Extremely fun rougelite, I played this when it was still in early access and I knew it would be a great game one day. The story mode is a fun way to force yourself to try different build. Overall really enjoyable.
i have bricks in my backpack. it's just like real life
After over 600 hours I can safely say. I think the funny mouse game, is peak
This game is addictive. First of all, it's a backpack manager roguelike, meaning you have a grid of a backpack and over the course of each run you accumulate items that occupies a certain shape and size and shove them into the bag, hoping that their effects synergize well. It can lead to some insanely powerful combos that effectively make you immortal, untouchable, or being able to first-turn everything. Don't play it for the challenge; play it for the power fantasy. This is the perfect game for those who don't want to dive too deep into the mechanics and just want a game to last an hour or so at a time, and have some great fun doing it. You'll most likely win each run and for me, that's good enough for a lunch time quick romp. It's sad that the devs had since abandoned the game; there're a fair number of bugs, one of which happens at the end screens after you finish the story mode.
