Pros: Decent remake of baby Blues. Creepy atmosphere. Good jump scares. I like how you try to keep the same Theme of the original game in how you have to find 10 stuffed animals. The dynamic of revealing that this baby it is a victim of abusive parents is interesting too. Cons: You obviously blatantly ripped off 99% of this game from two other games called among the sleep And the Garden of Ban ban. The tricycle was pointless as I barely was able to use it anyway because this map was so huge and had so many monsters and secret tunnels and vents I mostly had to go on foot and couldn't take the tricycle everywhere so it was absolutely useless. This map was way too big and confusing and the map sucked And was nearly unreadable without me using editing programs to rotate a screenshot of it and even then it took like 3 days to beat. I don't like how you changed the main stuffed animals from normal teddy bears to creepy bizarre ugly dolls with bloody faces as that was pointless and made no sense at all and I also hate how there's only one real monster in this game which is Red Belly AKA the Big Fat red monster with its head on its stomach which there is multiple of roaming in every single part of the map for some reason and the only time you see the ghost that pretends to be your is in the first level used in a cheap jump scare just to teleport you to the main area. It took me an entire day to realize where I was in this game and figure out how to properly use the map to navigate the game which still was very hard and frustrating and took two days with the map getting through the rest of the game plus I hate that you introduced a pointless save limit that limits me to only being able to save my game like 15 times which is not enough to make it to the end So I have to close my game and go in the save folder and remove all the saves besides the latest one every time I run out of saves because of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic. Other than that this game is very confusing and takes forever to figure out what I'm supposed to do and where I'm supposed to go and very unclear on directions. I also expected more from this game than just one Tiny beginning level followed by a gigantic ending level that took three days to beat but All in all was only two levels that basically resulted in the same thing that happened in the original game where the ending is just that the baby was dreaming and mommy saves you like come on Honestly do something more creative like give us a new ending already I make more than two levels like make an actual full game Seriously. Still was pretty decent for what it was.
TL;DR: Great horror game with a unique atmosphere that strikes a nice balance between creepy and approachable. My only real complaint is that it's a bit too forgiving
—the bear rarely felt threatening, resources were plentiful, and safety mechanics made exploration feel low-risk. With a more aggressive AI and fewer opportunities to bypass the tension, this could easily become an exceptional horror experience.
I really enjoyed this game and would absolutely recommend it for a few reasons: It was made by a solo developer, which makes what was accomplished even more impressive. It has just enough fear factor to enjoy it as a horror game, and just little enough to where I was able to play it through (curse you outlast). Even though my playthrough was under three hours, there was still plenty to explore and discover. The environments are well put together, and everything feels like it belongs in the world. That said, I do have a few criticisms. Spoilers ahead. I think the game does a little too much handholding. There are plenty of directional cues, multiple copies of important items, and several mechanics that make it easy to stay safe. Because of this, I unintentionally skipped a surprising amount of the game's content and never really felt punished for it.
I also never felt much pressure from the bear. Outside of scripted sequences, it rarely seemed interested in chasing me. There were at least two moments where I was completely exposed with nowhere to hide, yet the bear either failed to notice me or simply wandered away. As a result, despite genuinely trying to play normally, I never experienced what happens when you're caught or what the consequences are for relying on hiding too much.
I think a few changes could make the game even more enjoyable:
Make the bear's AI more aggressive and have it patrol closer to the player more frequently. Instead of giving the player the full map early on, reveal it in pieces to encourage exploration. Give players a bigger reason to repair and use the bicycle. I never found any of the bicycle pieces, and it didn't seem to matter. Maybe vents could make noise that attracts the bear, making the bicycle the safer option. Either reduce the amount of resources available (especially duplicate key items) or create more situations where the player has to spend them. For example, scripted scares could always increase the cry meter. I finished the game with a completely full inventory and only used two chocolate bars. One final suggestion: don't let players view the map while the game is paused. It removes a lot of the tension and lets you plan routes in complete safety.
Overall, though, I had a great time. The atmosphere, world, and presentation kept me engaged from start to finish, and I'd definitely recommend it—especially if you're looking for a horror game that's creepy without being relentlessly terrifying.
Babay Horror und Jumpscares was will man mehr. Sehr gut aussehendes kleines Game
Baby Blues Nightmare wasn’t a game I was super excited about going in. I picked it up as part of a horror game bundle, and honestly? It sat in my library for a while before I finally gave it a shot. And I have to say—the Steam store page does not do this game justice. Because I actually really loved this one. It has strong Poppy Playtime–style vibes, which already puts it in a category I enjoy a lot. You play as a child experiencing the world through distorted, nightmarish interpretations, and that perspective works incredibly well for the kind of horror this game is going for. The visuals were great, the gameplay felt solid, and the puzzles hit that perfect balance—not frustratingly hard, but still engaging enough to make you feel accomplished when you solve them. Nothing pulled me out of the experience, and everything flowed nicely. Overall, this was a really fun surprise. If you’re looking for a solid horror game to pass the time—especially one with a stylized, childlike nightmare aesthetic—I’d absolutely recommend Baby Blues Nightmare. I had a great time with it, and I think a lot of people will too. 👶👀
✔️ on Stream gezockt ⭐ Bewertung 5/10 📺 www.twitch.tv/giftigescookie
