"pimp my ride but for toddlers" - Steelkrill Studio, probably In the past, I've written about horror games that examine the human psyche from the perspective of a child; they're not easy games to write about because abuse and the resulting trauma can be quite debilitating, and I will also admit that certain games seem to follow a narrative "formula", so to speak. Baby Blues Nightmares - Toddler Horror Game (Y'could probably remove the last three words) is a horror game centred about a toddler with a disturbing set of plushies that keep him calm at night. Unfortunately, one night he wakes to find all the toys gone, and as he goes looking for them - he finds that something very, very wrong is happening in the house. Gameplay-wise, it's fairly simple; you walk around, solve basic puzzles or navigate around a large map to find your toys. You're also given a tricycle that you can easily get around without (in fact, the UI isn't overly forgiving in that sense; there's no indicators to tell you where the trike is, so you're often left wondering, especially when you're given more things to "customise" the tricycle). For what is essentially a single dev's work, this is an impressive undertaking, and the crying mechanic that lures the enemy to you is fairly unique within the subgenre; among the numerous sanity-based mechanics that serve to make the character's job harder, the crying mechanic feels a little more in-line with the darker elements of the game, especially given the narrative context. I feel as though this game operates under a slightly troublesome blanket of too much going on under one umbrella. I think the dev had a lot of interesting ideas that they wanted to place into the game, and while they work to an extent, some feel underwhelming or unnecessary. The story ultimately suffers, as while the game drags you from the "safety" of your home to what looks like a large play area, the story rushes from point to point, and eventually, while everything is revealed, it feels as though we already know from the start what's happened. Perhaps this is just what I'm referring to when I talk about a narrative formula; same with Bad Parenting, Gore in Crayon, etc. While different approaches, they usually revolve around the
death of a family member
- this formula isn't a problem at all; if anything, it feeds into what makes this subgenre so unsettling. But it's about the build-up. The more you build up your story, the stronger your story will feel. Overall, a very respectable game, some minor glitches/bugs here and there, sometimes you can look through the map, or go straight through certain things, sometimes I encountered consumables I couldn't pick up. But all in all, a good effort - I'm interested to see how this dev grows. 6/10

Blind Buy Had no idea what i was getting into, great game what an ending.
This game is cheap slop. It's funny to play as a baby but everything else in this game is pretty miserable.
love the idea of a horror game in the eyes of a child, it adds more fear factor and this game not only has smooth gameplay, amazing graphics and easy to follow dialog but the storyline is SO SAD once you piece it all together.
9/10. Story/lore could have been played out throughout the game, via discovering items that triggered memories or something, instead of dumped on you at the end. Gameplay was solid, atmosphere was beautiful for a horror game including lighting and sound effects. Would recommend if horror games are your thing, well done!
MADE ME CRY!!!! highly recommend, at first I cant lie, I was close to giving up in the beginning it just wasn't pulling me in (story wise). but i kept playing anyways. God you need to play this game. The more i played the more i loved it! The ending was great! Overall 8/10! Check it out for yourself please!
