Azure Sky is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, Enoops. One of the major cash grab scams these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio marketplace, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else's work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception (just look at their other games on Steam). It's nothing but a cash grab.
This time they've ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro pixel platformer/brawler with lightweight RPG elements. GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games. Resolution is locked, controls are locked, the 2D retro pixel "art" is terrible, the overall quality of this is garbage.
In line with dishonest asset flippers, the game was dumped immediately at launch into DailyIndieGame shovelware bundles. Suspiciously, there are 13 positive reviews, all in the same broken English, that all appeared in the review section for this game, within 24 hours of it launching on Steam, despite not that many people even bothering to buy the game. And strangely these accounts have VAC bans and also wrote other positive reviews for Enoops games as soon as they launched. Surely some co-incidence.
An important note: Enoops are known asset flippers and have previously taken other developers work and put it on Steam in an attempt to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's effort.
One example of Enoops doing this is Book of Shadows, which is really the "[url=https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/environments/historic/polygon-western-low-poly-3d-art-by-synty-112212]Polygon Western - Low Poly 3D Art Pack[/url]" asset, written by the actual developers, Synty Studios.
Asset flips are harmful to the gaming industry. They're nothing but cash grabs, and they harm genuine indie developers by reducing their visibility on Steam. Because this game has all the same low quality as an asset flip, as well as the other problems with it, it's impossible to recommend.
