Loved this game. Like a Mayan anime. Particularly enjoyed being able to spend most of my time flying around. A lot of other games would over-complicate it.
At first I struggled to engage with the game, but then I must admit it caught my attention and I had a lot of fun. The thing that drags the game down (something MULAKA didn't struggled with) is how dialogue-heavy this is.
The controls for this are fun to mess around with it. Storywise it went in a direction not used often but the written was not great not bad but definitely mid.Only really bad part of it was one boss fight decided that you should need to go thru an illusion maze every time you hit it which was infuriating
it was an interesting game to play, great story line. although there was an issue with the subtitles, at some point , the subtitles were permanently overlapping on each other.
its bugged out after the tutorial in the first 10 min so hard i couldnt progress further...
Short game (~5 hours story) with graphics looking like PS1 games. The story is great and well worth the time spent. The characters are memorable and enjoyable despite no voice acting, only occasional moans and sighs. The world is an open city while the boss fights happen in smaller arenas. Gameplay is linear: get new skill, fight boss, interact with story, repeat. Main selling point is the flying mobility. A better iron-man simulator than marvel ever did. Well worth the playtime (if bought on sale) if you enjoy a good story and flying around.
Swing and a miss
Aztech Forgotten Gods is a game I really do want to like. It's indie, goes for the South-American vibe with a sci-fi angle and PS2 aesthetics. But the TLDR is that while it tries to do a lot, it misses the mark on basically every mark. Vocals are limited to grunts/belches, our protagonist has the worst case of anime hair since Yugioh, 3D-movement is maximum clunckage and combat just boils down to mashing X and hoping something connects. The camera is all over the place, character animations are stiff and exaggerated and the story/dialogue is campy at best. Worse, of the 71 minutes I spent playing it, most of it was wasted on cutscenes and waddling between points to initiate the next one. First boss took 5 minutes and most of that time was just gaining enough height to hit the glowy rocks on its limbs and off it's head. It's too late for a refund so I'll wish the devs well and hope that next time they make a game they'll playtest it thoroughly. This unfortunately was a waste of my time and money.
