Short version: 60%
Azada 4 gives many things to do with its numerous puzzles and hidden object scenes, even if the story that should hold these together is one of the most generic HOG plots in existence.
Long version:
Azada 4: Elementa is a simple game… with an emphasis on ”simple”. This simplicity starts as soon as its story, which is about an unnamed protagonist—who is Azada’s new protector now for unknown reasons—travelling to three worlds to save their respective guardians before recurring series villain Panoptes does some hitherto undisclosed evil thing. In short, the story does not really care much. Neither do the voice actors, since all of them pronounce the name of Panoptes radically differently. True to the Azada name, Elementa is full of conventional puzzles in a wide range of length and difficulty. They are the high point of game design, since the conventional adventure bits are almost painfully cryptic and illogical, and the newly-added hidden object scenes often need a magnifying glass. However, even with the (sometimes buggy) quick-travel map, it takes quite a few hours to complete Azada 4, so at least we get plenty of gameplay content for its price.
I must say this is one of the few games that gets really tedious after a while. The puzzles and the minigames are pretty good, even though there are too many minigames to close to each other. The story was ok, but still, like the last Azada, not really the same as before. The description of the different creatures was pretty cool though. The pet customization was ok, would have been better if the pet had a n ectual use. It only felt like a little gimmick with nor really use, except popping up sometimes and saying something unimportant. Its recommendable
Azada Elementa is a fun hidden object and puzzle game with an engaging story. The tasks and objects are less formulaic than other Hidden Object/Mystery games. I really enjoyed it.
I still love this game after all these years.
If you've played the regular version, owe it to yourself to obtain the Collector's Edition for the Postgame stuff.
Played this when i came out, and still loved it to this day.
No part of this was fun. Maybe if you really like Hidden Object games in general, but I feel like 90% of this was backtracking to do boring item combination puzzles, and the other 10% was wondering if the person responsible for writing the plot was suffering from some sort of head injury. There was like one fun puzzle and a handful of decent hidden object scenes, but even those were a disappointment.
