A game that pales in comparison to Madden, but does show enough potential to keep me interested in how this series develops. I don't regret the purchase and recommend this to anyone who prefers PC gaming ot console gaming. The passing mechanics are unique and a little annoying at first but with practice you should get better. Runnning the ball becomes much more difficult the bigger a lead you have and your O-line tends to disengage blocks sooner when you're ahead. Playing on defense is a little bland due to a lack of abilities and diversity when it comes to how players handle, and your D-lineman gnereally move too slow to sack any QB. I've had fun with this game thus far but can't imagine I'm going to invest as many hours as I have already in the first week in the future. If you want a football game on your PC and don't like EA then please support this small developer.

Franchise Mode is terrible. No draft of players.
Wow. Big improvement from Axis 15. Already playing with mods. I am all about customization. I created my high school team. Going to create more schools. The passing system is awesome. Stop comparing this to Madden. It's slowly getting better every year.
Okay, so I know nothing about American football, but, as an introduction to the game I really love this. I'm sure that people who know more about american football could find a lot of faults with this, but, for someone who's new to the game, or just wants a very quick distraction from other games, this is really good. I will definitely be looking forward to other versions in the future.
The game isn't bad but has the feel of a free game or a Madden game from 20 years ago. You can't build your team in franchise mode w/o a draft or free agency, instead you just play the same roster repeatedly. In summary, it's not ready for primetime or to have people play it but I imagine that there are enough people desperate for an American football game that they'll give it a try like me.
Unplayable. Mechanics and graphics are more like Madden 64 for Nintendo 64 than anything else.
I played the Flash version of this game for dozens of hours. I was really expecting to love this. But it just... isn't fun. It doesn't have the same charm as the flash version. It plays identical as the over-head view yet tries to hamfist those mechanics into 3rd person and the result is terrible. You can forgive a lack of jukes/sprinting/etc when it's overhead, but when it goes third person like this, it just looks and feels terrible. There's practically nothing to do on defense but watch. Whereas the flash game was unique, this is literally a worse Madden. You would be better off downloading Madden 2008 and playing that. Real shame, I love the flash game but this just feels *nothing* like it unfortunately. If the game was 5$, I could see keeping this. But at nearly $20, I requested a refund.
It's frustrating that there really isn't a good option for a football game on steam for American Football fans. I respect the creator of this game as It's him and maybe a few others helping him. I haven't played the newer version of this game, but I been a big supporter of the franchise in hope that things get better in the future. As for AXIS 16. The game is not very fun and very stiff. The controls on defense are terrible and you probably would have more fun playing Tecmo Super Bowl on NES or Madden 2000 on PS1. Anyway here is hoping the series is improving with the newer iterations of the game.
The game simply crashes on linux. Contacted the developer, and he responded to me. Didn't really give any feedback other than wait for the update. This was a year ago. Pretty dishonest advertizing if you say it runs on linux, but it really doesn't.
