Mediocre But Fun
Oakwood is a perfectly average little indie game about being hunted by dinosaurs at an abandoned summer camp. If that sounds like your type of thing then I think you'll enjoy it for the couple bucks it costs. It's only about an hour long but it actually does a really solid job of making you feel like you're being hunted by something much more dangerous than you. What I liked is that you have no way of fighting back, all you can do is either run or hide to survive. The game doesn't look amazing but it does the job and actually really shines in its atmosphere. The parts where you're inside a building stood out to me the most. My main complaints with the game is that too often, the solution is to just run away. I wish you had to think a little bit more and be a little more stealthy, and there was no option for subtitles which I didn't like. I had trouble understanding some of the dialogue and I wish I could've had subtitles to help. The game does actually do a good job of fleshing out the story of the summer camp, and why it's abandoned which I liked and found kind of interesting. Overall, Oakwood is a fine little game. I had a fun time with it and for the price I can't not recommend it. It's not going to change your life but it's a fine little game, especially if you like dinosaurs. Anyone who tells you this was visually appealing and scary is LYING to you. If you want a bad game that's enjoyable , to goof around and stream for freinds for less than an hour, do grab but don't expect anything groundbreaking. The mechanics lowkey don't make sense half the time either, the logic is uhm interesting in a lot of scenarios and the ending was silly but the best part of the entire game !

very unique and diverse, short but was able to provide a captivating and fun experience.
Was very enjoyable, died a lot. but i had a great time playing this, highly recommend!!! Wish they made more games like this!!!
I wanted to like this game and was patient with how outdated some things are, but kept running into an area that just would not let me pass. Didn't matter if I restarted the game. I watched a walkthrough to make sure I wasn't just missing something, and I wasn't - the section of terrain just would not let me pass, and it was the only way forward. Can't recommend a game that won't let you get to the ending. Also, had a hard time suspending disbelief with all the notes you discover. I get that it's a way to lay out exposition, but I began to wonder if this lodge was inhabited by monks sworn to a vow of silence who communicated exclusively through written exchanges. That may have been explained in the ending I couldn't reach, though.
Fun little horror game. Plan about an hour to an hour and a half for your run. Worth the price.
