About
Welcome to the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger.
Set in the fictional world of Eora that was first introduced to players in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG from the award-winning team at Obsidian Entertainment.
The Living Lands is an island where the air hums with ancient magic, the flora seems to move with a mind of its own, and the ground beneath your feet shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Now, the Living Lands faces a dire threat—a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate, but what begins as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal—you feel as though the land recognizes you and is pulling you toward something greater. The choices you make will ripple across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even yourself. But beware, for every decision carries weight, and the forces you encounter will not hesitate to test your resolve.
Can you navigate the tangled web of intrigue, power, and danger to uncover the truth? Can you save this unknown frontier and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them asunder?
Even more to do in the game! This update brings New Game Plus, a Photo Mode, a brand new weapon type with two-handed staves, the ability to change character appearance whenever you’d like, new character creation presets, additional Godlike presets, custom game difficulty settings, and the addition of three new playable races: Dwarf, Aumaua, and Orlan.
The Living Lands is a place that feels foreign yet somewhat intrinsic to you as it feels the island itself is calling out to you for help. Explore an island home to many different environments and landscapes, each with their own unique ecosystem.
Mix and match swords, spells, guns, and shields to fight your way. Dig into your grimoire for spells to trap, freeze or burn enemies, bash them with your shield, or use range bows to attack from a distance.
Companions from a spread of species will fight alongside you, with their own unique set of abilities. From a former mercenary to an eccentric wizard, they will be part of your journey with your choices shaping them as you help them with their quests.

Gave up after chapter 1, what an crock of absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ Go to the city, get killed, get a tree talking to you, what the absolute ♥♥♥♥
I really enjoyed Avowed for what it is. No, it is not truly a competitor to The Elder Scrolls, but it is a very fun fantasy adventure game. The writing isn't the greatest, but the exploration and the combat was what really pulled me into this game. I also enjoyed the companions and their stories, you just have to let them grow on you at first. And the story gets better the more you play. Going back to combat, you are able to unlock tons of cool abilities so that you can customize your way of playing to your preference. It is probably best to try to be a little focused in how you go about it. Experiment with different weapons and luckily you can always reset your abilities points for some gold. Now, what I would like to see in another game like this is a bigger, more detailed world. I would like to see more uses for the money you get during the game such as buying a house or being able to customize more things in your camp. I really liked the environments in this game. At many times I was caught by surprise at how vibrant the bioluminescent fungi appeared as it clung to the various ruins you explore throughout the game. Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to experience the Living Lands at night. It is really nice to look at.
I don't know what people expected but this is not Skyrim, it's a different type of RPG and does everything it wants to do pretty well. Combat - 10/10 Story - 7/10 Exploration - 9/10
A great gateway into the Pillars of Eternity franchise, which I've been putting off until now. The game was overall very well done, with the exception that the combat was a little slower than I personally prefer.
Хорошая игра!
7/10. Solid Skyrim like game for Pillars of Eternity franchise. Solid mechanics, good art design. Interesting world. Falls short on story, companion/character attachment and writing, and the stories overall emotional impact. Give it a try if it's around 30-40$ as the many hours I played were pretty fun, with only a few major lulls towards repetitive combat and dungeon diving near the end.
this game is awesome!!!!
I genuinely love the combat it is very satisfying, I just like hitting a small creature with a massive hammer that sends them flying across the combat area. Although the story is very lackluster and kind of boring, the only companion I truly liked was Marius. The magic options aren't very viable early game as I was intially going to play a magic build but ended up in a heavy armor two handed weapon build. All in all the game is alright for $30 dollars but I would not pay for full price.
