This is a lovely and simple flight sim "lite" that incorporates enough physics and controls to be interesting and intuitive but not overwhelming. It's quite fun messing around with different builds to see what they're capable of and to prepare for new large/ fragile/ rush shipments. Very excited to see where this game goes.
Aviassembly is one of those games that looks simple at first but becomes way more addictive the longer you play. The main gameplay is building aircraft, flying around and completing deliveries, but the progression makes it feel much bigger than that. You start with a weak, basic plane and slowly unlock better engines, larger cargo space and stronger parts. Every upgrade matters because it lets you fly farther, carry heavier cargo and reach new areas. Building is easily the best part of the game. Weight, balance, fuel, speed and cargo all matter, so a bad design can barely take off while a good one feels incredibly satisfying. The story is simple, but the progression through Starter Island, Maplewood, Snow, the ships and finally the desert works well. Each area introduces harder missions and forces you to improve your plane. The final radioactive-waste delivery is a good ending because it tests everything you have learned. My main criticism is that the mission tracking is unclear. I had completed almost everything but could not unlock the desert because I had forgotten Maplewood. The game should show a proper checklist for every location and make final mission triggers clearer. Even with that, I would still give Aviassembly a 10/10. It is creative, relaxing, funny and genuinely satisfying. Watching a plane you built actually work never gets old, especially when it looks like it should be illegal to fly.
It's good fun. 8/10 game. The first tens of hours will feel like an 11/10, but eventually that lowers down to the 8. It is still fun and still a good sandbox game that is replayable and has a super duper fun campaign.
I would recommend this game for anyone who's into aviation. It has a wonderful progression system and challenges you to think when designing planes in the story mode, but also allowing for creative freedom in the sandbox version.
game good but this game has a short story
