This is a really fun arcade style game "remastered" with cool eSports tournaments and a sweet 8 player multiplayer arena mode. I loved the comic book story but above that I love using the laser eyes to wipe out 5 enemies at once. It is surprisingly so satisfying!
Avian Knights is one of the funnest arcade style games I've played in a long time. Can't wait to get this setup in my home arcade cabinet with the new remapping control system it should make it super easy to get it working right in my cab. the eSports league and tournament stuff is super creative and done right!
Really fun game! The esports tournaments and built in trophy room are perfectly done. They turn a fun 80's style arcade game into a reason to play it much more frequently. Not only can you win the leaderboard world record, but you earn league points for every ranking you have during the tournaments that you play in. The players with the most league points rank and the top 8 get to compete at the end of the year for a grand prize. Plus you get to see your name on a trophy in the trophy room for every tournament that you win. Seems simple yet it pulls me in to want to win! It's a really cool idea that I've never seen before in any other game.
This game is a gem if you love games like Joust, Knight Squad, and Killer Queen. Love the comic book backstory. Arena mode is the most fun but when you don't have anyone to play with, the arcade mode with all the Major League Esports point tournaments are a game in itself. Keep up the great work dev team. Can't wait to see the final release. Highly recommend!
I enjoy the challenge of the game with the need to use the different weapons in different areas of the game but the game really shines when you have 2 or more people playing. Great game to play with Friends and family. Then add in the chance to play for $$$ at the end of the year if you just put a little time in to it!
What a fun game! Feels like a modern version of old school 80's gaming and I love it. The 8 player PARTY arena mode is the best fun my mates have had in a long long time playing together. So many interesting approaches to winning that it makes it very balanced so even the most least skilled still has interest in battling back. Highly recommend. I love using the laser eyes when they light up a field unexpectedly--it really is a rush.
Fun for the entire family
Avian Knights is a really fun arcade style game that reminds me of Joust but so much better with lots of power up weapons, interesting game mechanics, and built in daily, monthly, and yearly tournaments. There are two version of the game included in this-- an arcade mode (with up to 2 players playing co op for highscores) and an arena mode. The arena mode is a fun 8 player party game like Knight Squad and super smash bros. I've played both versions and they appeal to players who love competition and players who want to hang out and play with their buds on a weekend. Add this to your PARTY game collection for sure!
This game is REALLY good. I love Joust and this builds on a classic, with new game modes and enhancements, things that should have been in the original game. I'm glad Atari is working with Alan-1 to release this in arcades. I can't wait for more!
I haven't had this much fun playing an eight player multiplayer game since we discovered Knight Squad! We like it better than that game too. Lots of different strategies to win and with the pterodactyls turned on it balances out the more skilled players in the arena mode. Not sure why it's still in early access. It feels finished to me.
