Genuinely surprised this doesn't get more attention or praise for being the perfect follow-up to a classic flash game that I'm sure everyone has played at one point.
Its pretty good if you like endless climbers
Pros: -Addicting -No microtransactions -Good gameplay -Good physics engine Cons: -Addicting -Heavily RNG-reliant -Customization's slightly lacking
This game is fun! I used to play the first one a lot, it was a great flash game. For this sequel, the price is really good for what your getting! I got it on sale for about $2.75 Canadian dollars. Here's the pros and cons! Pros: There's cool customizations! You can add cosmetics, and add power ups. The power ups cost coins you earn in game, but it's not super expensive to equip them, and the benefits outweigh the amount you pay. I usually like to equip the double jump bandana and the free slot, to obtain 2 power ups at once. There's good enemy design, they aren't too difficult, not too easy. And if you jump on them, you get 3 coins or so. Compared to the 1st game, this one is way better! It's super fun to replay! I think it's a roguelike, so you get different treasure chest items, coin layouts, enemies, and shops. I like how you can break blocks, after they've landed. In the first game if you get caved in, there was no escape until the lava came up. In this one if you're trapped, just bonk your head on the block above a few times, and you can escape! One addition I like in the 2nd game, is the scaffolding. It makes it easier to get around! If the scaffolding is above a shop or bank, you can go down to it, whereas regular blocks don't let you go through. Cons: I find it annoying how at the boss fights, pressing down while on the floor kills you. There's lava below, and when coming down from a jump, if you hold down, you fall straight into the lava. Also, the bank is sometimes hard to access! If I'm on the right of the bank, and I jump towards it, often times, I'll accidently jump on withdraw coins box, then die. It would be better to press an interact button, like "Y" on controller, to interact on the deposit and withdraw blocks, instead of jumping on them. I notice the UI in the pause menu messes up when obtaining an item! You see too much overlapping text in menu, making it impossible to read both texts. This only happened once, but, I accidentally dropped item in menu when pressing back! I think I was hovering over it, and pressed start, then lost the item. When I first booted the game, my controller didn't work at first! It works now though, I'm not sure why it didn't work in the tutorial. I wish you wouldn't auto equip items! Sometimes there's an item you don't want, it would be nice if you'd have to press Y on controller to pick it up or something. Instead of auto switching to new item. The 1st level music is okay. I preferred the song in the first game. The rest of the music I like! I think there's a way to waste 1 coin when dead in multiplayer mode. (Although I think it spawns a cloud?) But if you press it too much, it burns through too many coins. You can't prioritize which power up to get, it's random. If you have 1 really good item, and 1 bad one, you can shoot the bad one out, but it goes straight up (and you could end up collecting it again). You kinda have to juggle them making it really annoying to get the 2 items you want. Also, you can't delete power ups. Again, there should be a button you press to pick up the item you want. And you should be able to click and drag the items maybe, with the top item being your favourite. There should also be a way to delete an unwanted power up. I'm REALLY not fond of the bunny ears suck and pogo stick. They are essentially the same item, and the continuous hopping is very annoying. In conclusion, the game is very good for the amount you're paying! I recommend getting it on sale though. I think I'll give it a 72/100!
if you enjoy mario style platforming puzzles in a race to the top then definitely for you. I really enjoy the fact you can continue to bounce on the same enemy without a cooldown though
Plays like a flash game but is pretty addicting for a few hours 5.6/10
