Good RPG, a solid follow up to Avadon 1. Generally if you like one Spiderweb game you'll like the rest. Good RPGs in the classical sense, without feeling dated. I enjoy them.
Very good CRPG
This game is great!
The canonical ending of the first "Avadon" is considered to be the one where Redbeard retains his position as the head of the organization. "Avadon 2: The Corruption" continues this story, staying true to the core mechanics and atmosphere of the original. The sequel doesn't differ much from the previous game. The storyline even repeats: you start as a novice "Hand", and by the end, you either remain loyal to Redbeard or attempt to overthrow him. However, the addition of a new character class, the Tinkermage, brings a fresh element to the gameplay. Tinkermages can place stationary mechanisms on the battlefield that provide significant assistance during combat. These mechanisms can be offensive or supportive, capable of healing and strengthening allies or weakening enemies. The new class also led to the addition of another ally, bringing the total number of companions to five (one for each class). This expands the tactical possibilities and variety in strategy choices. The storyline structure remains the same as before: you travel through various locations, completing missions for the Black Fortress while gradually uncovering the true nature of Avadon and the Alliance's enemies. However, there is an added intrigue of the Alliance's governing body, the Council, which is trying in every way possible to reduce Redbeard's influence, believing that he has become uncontrollable. Overall, the plot is as engaging as before, but there are few significant innovations. "Avadon 2: The Corruption" is a worthy sequel that will please fans of the original, but it may seem insufficiently innovative to those expecting radical changes.
Not too happy about some of the speciesism in your games that are very analogous to racism. In Avadon 2, I'm required to exterminate a group of Wretches hiding in an abandoned house. The Wretches are causing no harm. This is akin to Nazis exterminating Jews just for being different and for having a high fertility rate - like the Wretches. All the Wretches do is try to provide for their people. It's really quite disgusting the way they're portrayed as rodents to exterminate. Can you please change this? In Avadon 1, it was indicated a few times that humans were able to come to a peaceful agreement with some Wretches so the extermination in Avadon 2 was out of context. This is worse than Avernum 3, where you were using captured animals as combat practice for players. What ethics are you teaching with your games? If I play a RPG, I want to be a good hero. I don't want to be someone who kills whatever I'm asked to kill without a second thought. I want to be a hero who values life and doesn't hurt innocents. I'm sorry you don't have such ethics.
Playing this after Avernum: Escape from the pit, It's bit different beast. I don't like skilltree mechanism where both leading skills are needed for next one.. It's nice that movement range is longer.
Loved the game way back... but don't play or buy any of them anymore do to resolution problems which has been going on since 2016
.
Continuing my journey through the Avadon series. Like the first one, the stories intersect in a way that makes the world feel lived-in and evolving. The graphics are simple, but the characters and the political tension between the factions kept me hooked for another long playthrough. [The Breakdown] Graphics: Potato-friendly Gameplay: Solid; consistent old-school RPG Story: Deep; great world-building Difficulty: Easy to learn Grind: Average Worth the price? Yes Rating: 8/10
我真的喜欢avadon系列。讲的是普京和普里戈津故事。
