It's a puzzle game that claims to be about figuring out how to arrange tiles to meet a goal, but doesn't ever tell you any of the restrictions on tile placement or how tiles interact or... anything, really. The in-game help simply tells you what the overarching objective is, not anything about any mechanics or how tiles work or what tiles need or any of the rules. Maybe someone puts together a guide or something eventually, but I'd say that unless you really enjoy trying to solve puzzles of intricate placement where you are not told the rules nor given feedback other than "nope can't place this", it's not worth your time.
Autarkis is a fantastic resource management game that immediately pulls you in with its addictive gameplay loop. The difficulty at the start is challenging in a good way, it makes every decision feel meaningful and rewarding once you get the hang of it. I really enjoy the graphics and overall atmosphere; they create a world that feels alive and engaging. The game has that special ‘just one more turn’ quality that keeps you playing late into the night. Highly recommend for anyone who loves puzzle and resource management games!

Autarkis, clever, visuell beeindruckend und ein Indie-Juwel! Ich hatte das Vergnügen, das Spiel in einem Livestream auf YouTube gemeinsam mit dem Entwickler zu erleben und kann nur sagen: Autarkis ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp! Ich hatte ihn in unserer CloudPlay Talk Show kennengelernt und ich hatte festgestellt das ich Autarkis auf meiner Wunschliste hatte, fix war es gekauft und ein Livestream ausgemacht. Dieses Spiel bietet eine fantastische Kombination aus einem tollen Artdesign und wirklich cleveren Spielmechaniken. Die visuelle Gestaltung ist sofort ansprechend und einzigartig. Man merkt, mit wie viel Liebe zum Detail hier gearbeitet wurde, um eine Atmosphäre zu schaffen, die sowohl schön als auch einladend ist. Was mich aber wirklich begeistert hat, ist das Gameplay. Die Mechaniken sind intelligent und fordern zum Nachdenken auf, ohne dabei frustrierend zu sein. Es hat einfach unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht, die Rätsel und Herausforderungen zu meistern. Wenn ihr auf der Suche nach einem Indie-Spiel mit Köpfchen, Stil und hohem Spaßfaktor seid, solltet ihr Autarkis unbedingt in eure Bibliothek aufnehmen! The gameplay is relatively simple, but you still have to master it first. I missed an explanation of the research function in the game. It was only after successfully completing the game that I realised you can buy upgrades in the menu 🙄 Perhaps this was explained in the tutorial, but I couldn't finish it for some reason and went straight into normal mode afterwards. PS: I'm too lame to complete the impossible mode... maybe the name says it all 😉
