While i think this game has an amazing concept and idea some of the choices they chose to make were just weird and contradictive. "Here's this thing that you need a very specific item for but you cant farm them because that would be too powerful" this is a single player game. When you get your splitters they honestly arent that great they take up so much extra space that you have to use them sparingly. this game talks about automations but you are literally not able to automate everything due to crafting times limited resources and just wonky game design. like the way you get mushrooms to automate is you need to catch bees and honey but you also need this frog who sucks things but they can only grab so many tiles in front of them. Or for certain plants you need more than just one item for it to grow. while the bees take care of seeds in the automation there is only one port on the planters. also not to mention how this is a third person game but you are locked to one position so you cant easily make use of all the space given to you. Like i said previously this game has a lot of potential but the good doesn't outweigh the bad for me
Honestly it seems pretty great on the surface. Then there's the annoyances. Too far from your power production? It shuts off. Power production on two separate corners of the map? Better get used to running back and forth. Fast travel with items? No, you drop everything. Every click on the map is a double-click according to the sound effects and the item/container you were clicking on. Items float over containers instead of entering them sometimes. They kill you and expect you to know to build a new base, while leaving lights leading you off into.....death, where you lose the only items they've given you, so you better be ready for it. Die on one side of a river, but closer to the resurrect point on the other? Better be able to cross water without powerups. Can't do that? Fast travel is offline because you're too far from the power production on your base. I honestly had a really interesting time here, but the bugs and problems just piled up too high. I'm sorry, but I'm giving this one a no. I love it, but they stopped working on it, and it's just not done.
I've had this game for a while in my library. I like automation games, but this one is more like a semi-automation game since a lot of stuff you just can't seemingly automate. Besides, the automation stuff is just really clunky overall. Plus, the game literally has only like a single joke and for the now 8 hours I've played, they've made it constantly.
I wanted to like this because the art was pretty and the story was amusing. Unfortunately, a lot of minor inconveniences just turned me off and had me realize I wasn't having fun. Automation had too many quirks, building is a pain, combat is boring, inventory management was tedious, movement is too slow (with no way to improve it), and the progression would need its own paragraph. I don't really recommend this game to anyone if I'm honest. While the story kept me invested because I found it funny, it was the "exhaling out my nose at a kinda funny tweet" level of funny.
Lot of fun, great vibe. It feels like a great mix of automation and rouge-like survival. That being said: this game isn't finished. This isn't a 1.0 release, it's a 0.8+. Still a lot of bugs and the automation towards the end feels really bottle-necked. TLDR: if you like automation like I do (a LOT) and you don't mind a fun unfinished game worth 20-30 hours of play, buy it. If you need solid logistics that are nailed down like factorio, don't buy it.
Very fun game, albeit very frustrating at times. The story and setting is amazing, but the game keeps the player bogged down in unfun busywork and upkeep, and squeezing the user for certain limited resources. The construction and "factory" part of the game works really well, but a little bit more quality of life tweaks would've been nice. Doing all the busy work ends up taking a lot of time, and this detracts from the enjoyment of the cool world, the setting and keeps the player from properly exploring the bigger world around.
it needs some QoL fixes. i dont mind waiting, but the small queue size forces me to sit in the crafting menu clicking every 2 seconds for Every. Single. Item. maybe theres a way to automate this further in the game. regardless, it needs to come sooner.
Very interesting "light" automation game, I say light because you won't need crazy amount of miners and factories like in Factorio for example. Even for the last mission i had maybe 100-150 buildings total among miners, factories and planters (not counting conveyor belts and light bulbs). Some negatives: - There we time when I could not move to an empty space next to a building, which was very annoying. - It is not possible to build behind a planter, but if you build there first and then place the planter it works fine. - Also green mushrooms were really annoying to automate because of how the item insertion works and how the vacuum toad would suck even things you didn't want it to, but I suppose that was on purpose. - Not being able to rotate all buildings like the planter was also a bit irking, but I suppose that was a art choice and it wasn't so bad. - It was hard to find where some items are made, especially stuff like blood-paste that is not on any crafting tab (it's made in the captured deer). Being able to click on an item in a recipe and see where it is made would have been great. Some positives: - The story and aesthetics/premise are really strong (using mechanized versions of enemies is really cool, the mechanical deer ... fits well with the theme i suppose, please don't remove it). - I like how it switched a few things around compared to other automation games like Factorio or Satisfactory, for example, building don't consume electricity, but instead need to be in a range of a light bulb, which act as power poles. - The pacing was pretty good, I never felt like something dragged on for too long. There are even a few "surprises" along the way. This may seem like there are more negatives but the truth is they are easier to describe as they are more specific, the biggest positive is just the overall experience of playing the game, being constantly in danger of the dark if you venture out for too long of if you power goes out, slowly progressing to the other stations and uncovering the story, designing a more automated build after you realize you cannot hand-feed blood ore for the rest of the game, just all of it together made a really enjoyable experience to me. I would definitely recommend this game to a friend.
Dont buy this game. It's not only boring but very unfinished. If it was only one of the two it might have been better, but like this I just can't recommend this to anyone, at all. Which really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks because I was looking forward to this game, following the Devlogs on Youtube, but they just straight up abandoned this game, left it to rot, and everything that once seen as a glimpse of what's to come, is now of what could have been, instead. Really disappointed.
funny little game for a funny little time, not worth $20, buy it on sale
