About
In Oceaneers, a survival-crafting colony simulation game, you manage a group of stranded survivors in a flooded world where sci-fi meets palm trees. With sinking islands, and scarce resources, you’ll need to grow an island colony, recruit new survivors and protect them from dangers on both land and sea!

The ocean is scattered with floating islands powered by Float-Tech. Build devices to resurface them to haul back to your colony. Collect the best islands to deploy and create a thriving settlement.

Harvest and scavenge resources to build a colony that can sustain your survivors. Supplies are scarce, so you’ll need to brave the ocean and journey far to keep your stockpiles up.

A steady food and water supply is essential to meet your survivors' needs, but don’t forget about waste. Spoiled food and survivor mishaps must be managed while you establish fertilizer production and crop farming.

Send survivors on expeditions, then take direct control once they arrive. Discover new biomes, resources, blueprints, and unique story items as you explore the seas. Locate the best islands for your colony!

Research primitive contraptions, and uncover strange Float-Tech devices from an old-world corporation. With a wide and deep research tree, you decide how and when your colony advances.

Create characters with distinct skills and traits to form a well-rounded colony. With plenty of hairstyles, beards and mustaches, you’ll grow attached to your survivors and their journey.

Protect your colony from harsh weather, and threats on land and sea. Fortify your rafts, weather-proof your buildings and set up countermeasures against food-stealing seagulls, foot-pinching crabs and raft-wrecking sharks!

Deep within floating islands lie bunkers filled with corporate secrets, unique resources, weird technology, and pieces of a larger story. Build access hatches and explore their hidden depths.

I don't know if I'm playing it wrong, but it feels extremely slow after some point. Basic resources like wood and stone become a bottleneck after some time, I have to go to other sectors to chop some trees and mine some rocks and each expedition takes 10-20 minutes of time even on fastest speed. So in meanwhile I just look at my oceaneers doing the same cycle of "catch some fish, cook some parts, make fish bait from some others, eat and poo, catch some fish, etc" for hours.
A chiller version of don't starve together, if DST actually had a decent tutorial. Fr though, play the demo - that gives you a very solid understanding of what the game is like. Myself, I played the demo for like 10 hours and knew I would be getting the game as soon as it comes out. By the number of hours I've spent in it, I think you can tell I personally really enjoyed it. This is a very fun and a very solid game technically, especially considering it's only in EA. The devs are also very responsive to all the feedback, and clearly care a lot about making the game the best it can be. So I can't recommend enough. Addictive in the best way.

*Review during the early stages of Early Access* I had a lot of fun playing the game. The entire main story is playable since the EA relase, with achievements. What the game lacks (some of these have been announced as part of the EA): - A better explanation on where some info can be found (for example raft hauling power, the fact that things in the water don't decay / sink until you interact with them...) - A map movement option (top down?) allowing to make selections of things behind each other a bit easier. - A few techs in the tech tree - A few automation options (shooing seagulls, priority at harvesting water and other "non perishable" ressources like wood) - Info in the encyclopedia on all the ressources (how to craft them and where) - A possibility to rename the colonists at any time (and not just when you unlock the item that allows it in mid-late game) - maybe hidden in the main bunker - A re-balance of stats of islands. It felt like hauling islands early only gave "bad" islands but allowed the base to live perfectly and late game all the islands were great but the base was already set up. - The possibility to move things around (ideally at no material cost, possibly colonist time to dissassemble reassemble) What the game does well : - A full story, playable from start to finish - Humor through the game (special mention for the loading screen messages) - A fully functionnal automation system - The expeditions and the island hauling and bunker exploring - The looks of the sharks at night - The overall graphics (buildings looking unique, colonists changing appearance when wearing clothes...) What I hope to be added in the game : - Possibility to create custom loadouts for expeditions (to limit player clicking on each expedition sent and possibly forgetting stuff) - The possibility to set default outfits based on the temperature - A legend (colapsable?) on the region map mode of what the icons refer to (story, merchant, outpost...) and possibly the number of blueprints left to find and possible colonists to rescue.
Fantastic game. Great on steam deck, runs smooth. Love the progression system. Visuals are beautiful. Controls are easy. Pretty chill vibe.
I had been craving a survival/crafting game with characters who were appealing and have customisable skills and appearances. Really got hooked into this game fast! Now it has had more updates and more to come I know I'll keep coming back to it! The story is fresh and interesting but not too intensive so it lets you take the lead on when to progress. The crafting and unlockable advancements present a good challenge as you need to find/create resources to make new items. Also you need to find blueprints. This was all part of the fun with the only frustration being, that I could see some upgrades for items that can be reached until you reach the next section of the game and it wasn't clear from the guide that this was the case. I love the changing weather, and night and day cycles and the character needs that add to the interest and challenge. It's a bright and gorgeous game, very relaxing and addictive. It can be a bit repetitive which is to be expected in most games. However, the automation has made repetitive tasks much easier to manage also. If you enjoy survival, crafting, relaxing gorgeous games this is one of the best of it's kind I've played.
I played the demo of this game a couple time and have since put a couple hours into braving the water. Like I am sure others have commented. It is a mix between Raft, Dont Starve and Rimworld in all the best ways. Excited to spend more time on the open ocean :)
This is a very very awesome fun cozy game! After playing Stranded: Alien Dawn, I have been on the lookout for another small-scale colony builder but they just don't exist. Finally, I've found one! I love it to death. Cute with a bit of comedy too. <3
Ich kann das spiel nicht auf Deutsch umstellen somit ist es für mich nicht zu geebrauchen.
