About
Atre: Dominance Wars is a strategy where you play as a Sorcerer who became an Elder. Your goal is to learn new spells, subdue your enemies and ascend to God. In the later stage of the game you can also get access to God spells which can change the map.
While doing that you will encounter The Merge that slowly destroys your playable area, there are ways to counter it by capturing those regions and binding them to your Throne which is your seat of power.
There are three ways to win the game, each of those victories brings certain risks.
Only one player can win the game
They can 100% expect betrayal from anyone in their empire once the victory count starts
This gives an interesting push and pull and the game stays intense until the end, as victories shift in the last moment, and allies betray you, or enemies start working together.
Level up your Heroes
80+ spells
Upgrade your Armies
Build an Empire
Upgrade your cities
Forge powerful artifacts
Play up to 32 players in multiplayer or solo/coop against AI

Research unit mutations and transform your armies to obliterate any enemy you come across.
Build thriving cities, construct special structures and amass legions of devoted followers.

As an Elder, research spells and gain a diverse set of powers - from spreading prosperity to bringing total annihilation. The most powerful Elders can ascend to Godhood and open the Gate between worlds. During this period you are granted absolute power and magic that can destroy the land itself, but… this power comes with a price, and the Gate between worlds stays open for powerful entities from the other side…

Magically bind various gems to craft unique artifacts that imbue you or your armies with unparalleled might. Name the artifacts as you wish, using ancient Glagolitic script.

Given to you by the gods, immortal Avatars will lead armies in your name. With each victory they gain experience; level them up, equip them with powerful artifacts and shape them into juggernauts of destruction.

Let your Envoy roam the shattered world, and send your Avatars to conquer it all. Capture cities, construct magical monoliths and create a dominion that bends to your will.
The way the world is generated depends on the magical attributes you choose when you create your character. So the world responds to your choices from the very beginning. The events you come across also change depending on these magical attributes. Take note: Events are steeped in the lore of this new world and when presented with multiple choices, unexpected consequences may arise if you don’t do some detective work.
With this mechanic, Atre: Dominance Wars promises a fresh experience for every different playthrough.

Make Chinese and English speaker feel at home: Bilingual Curator
Whilst it'll take a bit of time probably for most that are use to Heroes of Might and Magic, or even Age of Wonders even, going from turned based into more of a real time base one. It will make you think on the go at times, or in even think in advanced if you want to prepare one of your armies to help nudge the battle slightly more in its favor. Also depending on the victory conditions you can have it definitely go for a while for even small map skirmishes. Especially with you able to set the turn speed as they play out in real time for the world once started For armies you can still prepare some combat spells and toss it into them before engagements. Lets you have a more controlled unleash on a specific threat/unit as needed rather than me being randomized. Though unlike other games where your t1s tend to get phased out at one point or another. Even the lower to early tiers units can have a purpose or reason to keep around. Besides being an option to upgrade later to suit your battlefield demands. Given each unit falls into a role somewhere, offering some flexibility in what they can strike. Combat side it flows pretty well with you needing to get a bit use to it, still kind of turn based in phases if going into manual combat. Map side for it well you've got to be careful of ambush attacks or some surprises, but you also kind of have counters for certain things to units. So a large enemy army could be shredded if you have its counter for some back to back engagements to take its fangs out. Region/city side. You get a slight feel for developing regions to support you either locally for that one specific village or more specific/regional in ways, supporting your war effort in some way. You just have to get use to our entire economy basically being mana. Never know what the map will be like for skirmishes, so plenty of replayability. So if you like something that'll make you think on the go, this'll definitely be something to try out.
I have enjoyed the time I have played thus far, and would encourage anyone interested to download the demo and try it out. The settings can be changed to easily adjust to different play styles, going from a rts experience to something closer to a 4x. As with most rts games, playing with others much more enjoyable, so download the demo with others and try it out. My biggest complant is that the default setting present Dominance as a rts game. While playing on a small map with short turn duration is certainly an option, I feel that longer turns on large maps is where it will shine. There is a lot of depth to be explored that just doesnt come into play or matter with a short game.
What I like most is that the game constantly gives you things to think about. You're managing settlements, deciding where your Heroes should go, preparing armies, saving mana for spells, and reacting to whatever the map throws at you. It feels less like executing a perfect plan and more like adapting to an evolving situation. I also appreciate that lower-tier units don't instantly become useless. I've had plenty of situations where a well-positioned "weaker" unit or the right army composition mattered more than simply having the strongest stack. The visuals deserve a mention too. The updated spell effects, larger battles, and army formations make the game feel alive. There were several moments where I zoomed in just to watch a battle play out instead of immediately skipping ahead. It's definitely Early Access and still being polished, but if you're a fan of Heroes, Age of Wonders, or fantasy strategy games in general, I'd genuinely recommend giving it a try.
has to be one of the most dumbest games that dosnt allow you to save your game at all
ATRE is a Beatiful game! Coming from my all time favorite game: Heroes of Might and Magic III, I feel quite at home with this one. Though there's quite a few differences between the games, I see a lot of similarities, and the differences are a welcome breath of fresh air. Having time move slowly but contiuously was weird to me at first but I can see this can be a good thing in multiplayer matches compared to classic turn based games. I'm playing the game on Linux (Debian 13) and everything works great with Proton. Playing on 4K screen with AMD FSR looks great, glad the game supports this. As for the negatives, the tutorial can be confusing at times, that's something the developers should work to improve in future updates. The battle needs improvements, it looks great, but can get predictable after a while. Needs to be balanced better to provide more of a challenge. But that's to be expected, the game is in Early Access afterall, and I see developers actively working on the game, updates coming in almost daily and devs listen to feedback!
A breath of fresh air. While it´s still a bit rough around the edges (to be expected from an Early Access title) I´m hungry for more and can´t wait to see how the further development goes. Atre actually being a well rounded project from art style, to gameplay and music. As a gamer that gives me the feeling of being at home.
sehr gutes und schönes spiel
