About
Astroneers undergo rigorous training to explore the frontiers of outer space for the good of all humankind. Creativity and ingenuity are key to their survival!
Astroneers are trained to use the Terrain Tool, a powerful instrument which can dig, collect, shape, build, and color terrain in any way they wish.
Build custom bases throughout the solar system to survive and thrive anywhere! Objects are snapped into place in a modular system that allows Astroneers to create unique builds. Automation systems, crafting stations, power plants, resource harvesters, and railway facilities are built from the ground up and can be customized to suit any situation.
This unrecognized system consists of seven celestial bodies. Each of them can be explored entirely, from the rounded surface all the way down into the core. Astroneers will have to grapple with their unique geography and challenging biomes if they seek to understand them.
These strange worlds are dotted with mysterious structures and artifacts, while Astroneers themselves receive confusing comms from unknown sources. Curious Astroneers may seek to understand these anomalies, and with them, the secrets of the solar system.
While they're perfectly capable on their own, Astroneers are team players who are always happy to offer a helping hand! Group up with other Astroneers and work together in 2-4 player online co-op. Playing solo online allows fellow Astroneers to drop in and out of your world at their leisure.
Astroneer began as an Early Access title on Steam in 2016, and reached 1.0 in 2019. We wouldn't be here today if not for our community's support, feedback, and ideation. As we continue on our journey, we want to reiterate our pledge to continue building on the foundation that is Astroneer with free, ongoing content updates.

been waiting 9 years for this SOOOO WORTH IT
I do not recommend this for solo playing at all, nor full price, we got it at 75% off. We're still having fun mostly because we're playing together. 1. Dedicated server is effed, we can't make an independent server like in Conan or many other games so we can't come and go as we please when we have time, we can only play when the host is online. False advertising, shame. :bell::bell::bell: 2. It has so many bugs still and is very grindy, but most annoyingly many bad UI/UX issues, if you thought the camera in BG3 was the worst enemy get ready for Astroneer camera glitching in a wall, and then you get catapulted with your rover into orbit loosing all valuable items, I have the screenshots to prove it. 3. many quality of life improvements that should have been base game are DLC, that's just bad cash grabby behavior that should not be encouraged. 4. there is no story or much of a lore which is not for everyone. maybe in future iterations now that they sort of have an idea how to make games like this they can try and appeal to a larger audience. and fix the many issues mentioned above. I suppose it's good there is no thirst, and hunger mechanics because this game has a steep learning curve with no tutorial as is. But gardening and cooking could have been more fleshed out than the narrow snail use. Maybe they'll do another DLC for that. :unamused: Personally I prefer how Concerned Ape from Stardew Valley has handled updates and improvements so I bought many keys to gift to friends. But this I can't recommend to all my friends. It's going to be a pain for some who are open to buying and playing this. I can see why it had mixed reviews for a while. I am willing to change my review to a positive if points 1 and 2 are resolved. Dunno how they will fix point 3.
