Travel Through Unfamiliar WorldsExplore a vast, dangerous, yet beautiful world. Broken up through multiple chapters, join the protagonist and Karon, his talking bird companion, as they confront time and fate.
Slashing, Smashing, thrusting countless enemies while building up stamina for powerful Possession Skills, which are enough to melt away anything that blocks your way, including huge bosses that could take half, or even more of the screen. Fight aggressively while thinking strategically, always pick up the most trust worthy equipment, and select the best suited skills to deal with ever changing circumstances.
Battle ferocious bosses throughout the story, each with their own set of attacks and challenges. Upgrading abilities and acquiring new skills are vital to finishing each battle and progressing through the protagonist’s story.
A warrior mastered ranged combat with bows and throwing knives? A mage smashing enemies with staffs and cast magic at the same time? Play it in your way. Gathering experience to level up, collecting force to grow up, forging and mastering equipment to open up more tactical options.
14 years in development and more than 1 year for revision, award-winning indie developer KEIZO gave his all into this work. The plot keeps twisting as characters growing in an ever expanding world; Classic themes like time travel and tons of spoilers are all custom-made with the developer's own style. In ASTLIBRA, Story elements are often made into game mechanics, for example, your soul-mate Karon is not just a sidekick to talk with.
With 6 difficulty options, all kinds of players can enjoy the combat system at their own pace, but no one can finish all those contents casually - even after you "beat" the game, the Postscript after Final Chapter will provide extra story, new adventure and fresh system, tapping the potential of skills, equipment, as well as your imagination.

Reviews
戰鬥爽劇情好, UI操作雖然有些惱人的地方, 但仍就瑕不掩瑜, 趁特價入手玩完真的很幸福
An epic adventure and story worthy of being called the work of a god.

Astlibra is a video game collage, formed in the shape of a lost action RPG from the early 2000s, written in the mold of nostalgic anime tropes and an elevated empathy for a life. A kaleidoscope experience, Astlibra puts you in the place of a faceless, nameless, and silent protagonist where you fight and beat your way through one of the most original combat systems I know of in the action RPG space backed up with one of the most wild JRPG stories I can think of. There's gonna be some genre mixing. There's gonna be tonal leaps. There's gonna be perverted jokes. There's gonna be some genuine heartfelt moments. And it's gonna make you think on how the hell the universe in this game even works. Putting you into such a high concept series of events that you wonder what the game is even trying to do. But it's pretty clear what it is trying to be, it's a basic telling of a story that asks "how far are you willing to go, to make your life a happy one?" I don't want to give too much away, the game gives you a lot to discover. A lot of systems and interplay. Weird niche items. Weirder strategies, and builds, and spells. Secrets, side quests. I think the one thing that stands out most is that the game is a figurative gumbo of art styles. Astlibra was in development for over 10, I think 15 years. In that time the developer has gained permission to use a lot of designs, assets and music from independent artists over the years. The way enemies animate is like puppetry, which furthers this feeling of playing in a collage. Everything syncs up by how much it doesn't sync up. You can see certain artists work over others, with their own distinct styles. Hell, even your character isn't even in the same style as the rest. And this heightens the experience for me. Too often a game tries to be cohesive - narratively, aesthetically, and in gameplay, but Astlibra paints with broad bold strokes. Yet, it comes back together just as easily. It feels like a labor of love to many, many years of gaming. A work like this doesn't usually get an excellent translation, but this one did and it's all the better for it. Please play Astlibra. It's one of the best Action RPGs of our generation. P.S. A lot of feelings I have for this game also echo the developer's other release, Magicus. Except the translation is unfortunately not good, but it's an amazing puzzle RPG. One of the best.
