Travel Through Unfamiliar WorldsExplore a vast, dangerous, yet beautiful world. Broken up through multiple chapters, join the protagonist and Karon, his talking bird companion, as they confront time and fate.
Slashing, Smashing, thrusting countless enemies while building up stamina for powerful Possession Skills, which are enough to melt away anything that blocks your way, including huge bosses that could take half, or even more of the screen. Fight aggressively while thinking strategically, always pick up the most trust worthy equipment, and select the best suited skills to deal with ever changing circumstances.
Battle ferocious bosses throughout the story, each with their own set of attacks and challenges. Upgrading abilities and acquiring new skills are vital to finishing each battle and progressing through the protagonist’s story.
A warrior mastered ranged combat with bows and throwing knives? A mage smashing enemies with staffs and cast magic at the same time? Play it in your way. Gathering experience to level up, collecting force to grow up, forging and mastering equipment to open up more tactical options.
14 years in development and more than 1 year for revision, award-winning indie developer KEIZO gave his all into this work. The plot keeps twisting as characters growing in an ever expanding world; Classic themes like time travel and tons of spoilers are all custom-made with the developer's own style. In ASTLIBRA, Story elements are often made into game mechanics, for example, your soul-mate Karon is not just a sidekick to talk with.
With 6 difficulty options, all kinds of players can enjoy the combat system at their own pace, but no one can finish all those contents casually - even after you "beat" the game, the Postscript after Final Chapter will provide extra story, new adventure and fresh system, tapping the potential of skills, equipment, as well as your imagination.

Reviews

I'm not the typical person to get 100% achievement on my games, I usually finish the main story and call it a day. However, there are some exceptions. Games that I find truly fun, and games that I can feel the author has invested their passion, their soul in, those games are the exceptions to my rule. This game checks both prerequisites. The author has invested over 15 years of his life into this game, and it truly, truly shows. In case I'm not clear with my words, and to those who are seeking a fun, cherishable time with a game, I wholly recommend this game. This is one of the best games I have every played in my life. PS: And I do recommend against playing the demo, for it shows *too much* of the games' features. The full game feeds you those features at a good pace. The demo is too generous, and therefore overwhelming. Felt that firsthand myself. Kudos to the other comments that also warns about this.
This is one of those games that I'm glad I found out about! The gameplay is so satisfying and in-depth that it puts so many AAA games to shame. There are so many builds you can try because all of them are viable. If you're like me and want to try out every different weapon, there's a little bit of a grind, but nothing a luck build wouldn't solve. The story surpasses the gameplay, I think, even though the gameplay is phenomenal. The story will keep you hooked! One thing that made me really happy is that the equipment you get in-game visually changes when you equip it, which you don't see very often. Also the soundtrack is amazing im literally listening to them as i write this right now(prairie theme song atm). Just want to thank Keizo for not giving up and delivering such an amazing game.
